Vehicle Description

1951 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup

The first major redesign for Chevrolet Pickups after WWII was the "Advance Design" series introduced in 1947. They remained in production through 1955 and were marketed as larger, stronger, and sleeker than previous designs. These might have started life as work trucks but in current times have become a go to for many collectors. This nice 3100 3 Window Pickup is in good shape and has a custom made stake bed in back. As you can probably tell by the rectangle hay bale it was mostly used in things like local parades. The stake bed features custom wood side rails and a vintage Coca-Cola box that acts as a trunk or of course, a cooler. The body is solid and the Red paint is in good condition. The running boards are painted Black and in good shape as well. It no longer has a rear bumper but still wears its original chrome front bumper and that classic early 50's horizontal grill. The windows are in good condition and it has a split two piece windshield. The wheels work well with the vintage "farm truck" look and are painted Red with Chevy hubcaps and beauty rings. It even has the wide white wall tires with the all terrain style in the back.

Under the hood is a 350 motor that has been dressed up with a chrome Edelbrock triangle air cleaner and chrome valve covers. It has a nice sound through dual exhaust and transfers power back through the Turbo 350 transmission to the 12 bolt rear end. The truck is equipped with both power steering and power brakes making it a comfortable driver. It also has disc brakes added up front.

The interior has been redone in a two tone Gray cloth that is in great condition. It has a single bench seat fitted with matching Gray lap belts. The dash is painted in Silver and features its original style trim. The gauges are also the stock style but a vintage Suntune mini tachometer has been added. A Pioneer AM/FM/Cassette player has also been added to the dash.

All around this is a neat pickup that will make a nice driver for anyone in the market. The stake bed makes it unique and makes it perfect for hauling things around as well as being a stage or sitting area for hay rides and parades.
