Vehicle Description

1957 Mercury Colony Park 4-Door Station Wagon - Florida Long Roof - Upgraded with Crate 351ci Windsor V8 - C6 Automatic Transmission - Turquoise Paint over Two Tone Interior - Edelbrock Intake and Carb - Airlift Rear Suspension - Vintage Air - Retro Bluetooth Stereo - Power Steering - All Fluids Changed in September 2022 Marketed by Mercury under the tutelage of the Ford Motor Company, the Colony Park is an American luxury full-size station wagon that was produced between 1957 and 1991. Serving as the flagship, and more exclusive, station wagon series of the Ford Motor Company, the Colony Park was marketed against the similar Chrysler Town & Country prior to its 1979 downsizing, and GM's Buick Estate and Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser. Distinguished by its simulated wood-grain paneling, the Colony Park was marketed as either the premium-trim or the sole full-size station wagon offering of the division. The Colony Park was trimmed and shared a chassis with the similar Mercury Turnpike Cruiser, which was positioned above the Mercury Monterey. To differentiate itself from Ford (and Edsel) models, all Mercury station wagons were given hardtop rooflines. The 1957 Colony Park also offered a rear window that retracted into the tailgate, which was not offered on Ford-branded station wagons until 1961. The interior featured several comfort and convenience features, like an electric clock, vinyl upholstery, full passenger compartment carpeting, chrome window surround moldings, rear side vent windows, and simulated woodgrain vinyl body side trim. Extra flair has always been a Mercury station wagon trademark and this concept is not lost on the Colony Park presented here. Claiming the debut model year of 1957, this Mercury Florida long roof station wagon has lots of bells and whistles. Boasting an upgraded crate 351ci Windsor V8 and C6 automatic transmission, this wagon is ready to hit the road. With enhancements like an Edelbrock intake and carburetor, Airlift rear suspension, power steering and Vintage Air, this wagon continues to supply all the comforts that Mercury initially wanted all its station wagons to encompass. With exterior styling featuring turquoise paint over a two-tone interior, this Mercury Colony Park could be considered quite a sporty, family vehicle. Including classic white wall tires and a signature roof rack, adventure is bound to be waiting for this station wagon. The timeless black and white interior upholstery beckons to a simpler time where road trips were king. In additional to all the traditional options that were included from the factory, the previous owner has updated this wagon with a retro Bluetooth stereo so anyone can sing their heart out. Yes, you could purchase a more popular SUV, but why not stand out from the crowd with this unique station wagon. Regardless of whether you are planning your next trip to Wally World or just a trip to the grandparent's house, this Colony Park will be sure to add plenty to any road-worthy journey. We hope that you consider this great vehicle for your next purchase. Please call if interested or e-mail with specific questions. Thank you for looking.
