For Sale at Auction: 1992 Ford Thunderbird in Houston, Texas
This Ford Thunderbird is a Robert Yates Racing NASCAR racer that
was campaigned in nine Winston Cup Series events by Davey Allison
during the 1992 and 1993 seasons. Driven in another 22 races at the
hands of Ernie Irvan, Kenny Wallace, and Dale Jarrett through the
1997 season. It achieved a total of six victories and ten Top Five
finishes during its career, with one win attributed to Allison in
1992 at the North Wilkesboro Speedway and the other five split
between Irvan and Jarrett. Documentation included with the sale
includes signed letters, bills of sale, a letter of authenticity
from the crew chief Larry McReynolds, photos of the car in various
races, memorabilia, and other papers describing the transactions
from Robert Yates Racing in March of 1998 to a series of private
owners. The car was rebuilt by Bill Elliott Racing Enterprises
following damage sustained from a collision and was acquired by a
private owner approximately 12 years ago. During that time one of
the private owners used the car for local events and amateur
vintage racing events including shipping it to London for the
Goodwood festival of speed. Power is provided by a 358ci V8 paired
with a four-speed manual transmission. The car is finished in black
with #28 decals and a Texaco/Havoline livery. This Thunderbird
stock car is offered with a file of documentation and a bill of
