Vehicle Description
This 1931 Ford Model A Rumble Seat Coupe was made for true classic
car motoring. After all, you don't just have the iconic rumble
seat, but also a comfy interior, strong motor, and nice extras,
like the trunk rack on the back.
We love these Model As for the amount of style they bring to the
road. After all, the maroon and black are a terrific color combo
and have the right gloss to show off the curves that make the Model
A continue to look so attractive over 90+ years later. And against
this two-tone paint is distinct cream-colored pinstriping that also
matches the wire wheels. It's a true classic with nice details
everywhere from the bright mesh radiator screen to the rear step
plates to get into the rumble seat. And the way the body panels
have straight lines and good gaps shows you this Henry Ford era car
has been treated with respect.
The interior provides the right vintage atmosphere with the long
shifter, big/grippy four-spoke steering wheel, and gauge package in
the center of the dash with all your classic readouts working. And
we love the look of the pinstripe on the dash. There have been some
updates along the way, and so the velour seat now also features
seatbelts. Plus, the engine temp and oil pressure readouts are
quite handy. But nothing gets in the way of the vintage atmosphere.
The windshield still folds out and the side windows glide smoothly
to give you good venting the old-fashioned way. The iconic rumble
seat is finished in durable vinyl for proper outdoor use. And the
full presentation back there is quite clean and complete, so you'll
proudly have it on display.
Under the butterfly hood is the robust Ford's 201 cubic-inch motor.
Because this one was built to be a driver, we were told it has a
fresher rebuilt motor added in 2008. You can see it has been kept
up over the years, and you'll even spot a handy upgrade to an
alternator. The clutch and three-speed manual transmission have a
clean action to make driving nice. And there's even an upgrade to a
better wheel and tire package for a 1935 Ford.
This '31 Ford was subtly made for better driving. So no matter if
you want to enjoy the weekend byways or hit the parade route, this
rumble seat coupe is a charming way to have a great time. Call
