While a proper classic pickup can haul a ton of stuff, this 1992
Chevrolet 1500 is also a ton of fun. Because beneath the work truck
vibe is the kind of suspension upgrades that would make a sports
car jealous.
This pickup has an incognito kind of cool. The shining front bumper
and crystal clear headlights are some of the only ways you know
this has been given a big investment. Well, that and the awesome
stance is a giveaway, too, but we'll get to more of that in a
moment. The real first impression is about an honest work truck.
Peeling paint on the verge of patina, a few road scars, and a
job-ready trailer hitch give this the right mix of rat rod and true
handy pickup.
The interior continues the honest and useful attitude. The bench
seats look nice in a clean and comfy blue velour. And we love how
this generation of Chevy truck gives you a contoured bench that
also has an individual driver's armrest for added comfort. In fact,
this is built to be a nice driver. You have all the best features
from this generation for a nice cruiser, like air conditioning,
power steering, front disc brakes, cruise control, and a four-speed
automatic transmission with highway-ready overdrive.
Under the hood is a well-maintained 4.6-liter V6. It's unknown if
the odometer reflects the full actual mileage, but these V6s have a
terrifically hardy reputation, and the fuel injection keeps this
feeling consistent and robust. So the base is pure old-school truck
faithful. But that's not the heart of the appeal. As you look
underneath, you can see a full QA1 stage 3 suspension kit front and
rear. This includes upgrades like tubular front A-arms, and the
rear is a trailing arm setup with panhard bar and torque arm. You
also have thick sway arms and adjustable coilovers all around. They
even added an AGR quick ratio steering gear box to make this feel
more like a Camaro with a truck bed. That's over $5k suspension and
driving components. And that doesn't even include work like
deleting the front inner fenders to really let this truck get low
(airbags anyone?) It all makes for a thoughtful package that looks
cool and handles sharper than you'd ever expect from a pickup.
There's a lot of fun in a lowrider kind of suspension wrapped
around a work truck kind of style. And if you were looking for
something less incognito, the value price will certainly leave room
in your budget for everything from candy-coated paintwork to a
growling V8. So now that you know the full story you can see how
this is one impressive total package. Call today!!!
