For Sale: 1969 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am in Lees Summit, Missouri

Vehicle Description

Health forces sale of this amazing car. This car started life as a  1969 Firebird convertible was shipped new to the Jules Meyers Pontiac in Los Angles, Cal on 07/07/69.  Ordered with special paint code T which was Carousel Red with Parchment knit vinyl interior and white top. Options included the W66 engine package 400 4 barrel, Turbo 400 transmission, 3:55 Safe - T - Track rear end, and Air Conditioning. While doing the PHS papers it was discovered the it was purchased by a Hollywood Production Company and was used as a prize on the game show Hollywood Squares. In 2005 the car was purchased by the second owner who spent the next 16 years restoring the car the way he wanted turning it into a 1969 Trans Am. No expense was spared when he took the car down to bare frame and replaced, rebuilt, refurbished every nut, bolt wire on the car. During the restoration he installed a full Hotchkis suspension with Bilstein shocks and the rear end and Turbo 400 were rebuilt. As far as the engine the original motor was long gone as many were back in the day. He did find the correct YW block for the car and added the correct Ram air lll carb, intake, heads (48), and the correct Ram Air exhaust Manifolds. The motor was rebuild with the help of Butler Performance and SD Performance and has been punched out to a 472 with a very nice Comp Cam and MSD box. He also waited 2 years for the person he wanted to do the body fit and paint is dam near perfect. I can not stress enough the everything has been redone, top, dash, gauges, carpet. He had one off custom Rally ll wheels made by Evod Industries in California. If you do not like the Rest - Mod look all you have to do is put the correct Rally ll 's back on it and are good to go. I do have the PHS paperwork and a binder totaling over 80,000 in just parts and paint. As nice as the pictures look the car must be seen and drivin to really appreciate the quality of this build. This car is not cheap with a asking price of 124,995.00. but if you always wanted something like this and you do not want to spend six months searching for the correct car, then track down the correct parts, then find someone to help you build it this car is for you. I have been told by more than one shop that to reproduce this car again with this quality it would run close to 200 grand to do so.
