garden variety SS, this one has the monster 427 L72 solid lifter
V-8 making 425 horsepower borrowed by engineers from the Corvette
parts bin. Only 1,856 427/L72 engines were produced in 66', spread
across the Corvette, trucks, and the full-size Chevrolet line up.
While exact figures are not known, this Impala SS is likely one of
less than 100 Impala SS models with the L72 and 4-speed
transmission. Thats less than 1 percent of the total Impala SS
production for 66'. talk about rare, it's like finding a hen's
