Vehicle Description
We know why you're looking at this roadster. There's just something
cool about these reproduction Mercedes-Benz Gazelle cars when
everything is done right. It has a vibrant red, beautifully built
body, V6 motor, and an overdrive transmission to enjoy longer
trips. All of this makes for an attractive roadster at an
irresistible price.
A pre-WWII appearance with much more modern reliability - that's
what this one really offers. You're not out to fool concours judges
into thinking this is a real Mercedes. Instead, this is the
roadster for those who like getting that appreciative nod in
traffic from others that have the same desire for nostalgia that
you do. This Gazelle has great classic touches from the flowing
fenders to the full-size spare on the rear. The red paint makes
this a fun-looking car that looks glossy in the sun and is easy to
enjoy. But what makes the full package attractive is the added
black. It surrounds the grille, and it's used for tubular bumpers,
fog lights, and running board covers. And then the well-fitting
black roof is in place, this has a subtle two-tone style.
There are side curtains that can come with the sale (they will need
some fabrication to affix to the body and soft top). But as nice as
it is to have that extra, we bet you're not thinking of ever having
the roof up. After all, a car like this was made for open-top
driving fun. That's why the handsome black interior goes so well
with the exterior accents. We like how this has a retro-cool look
on the front bucket seats with its armchair-like button-top style.
The rear seat is done to match, and since it's more likely to fit
luggage than people, it's nice to see this so well finished when
empty. This retro fun even extends to the working AM/FM stereo with
8-track. But as much as this wants to be a car that blends the late
1920 and early 1980s, the driving experience is correctly brought
into modern times with upgraded gauges and a TCI floor shifter.
Under the hood is a 4.3-liter GM motor. This V6 has earned a hardy
reputation in giving pickups like Chevy's S-10 the ability to get
the job done. And since the parts availability is better and more
affordable than any Mercedes you'll know, this is also great for
some weekend tinkering to really unlock the extra power. It already
has desirable features like an electric fan and an upgraded
distributor. It's nicely paired with a four-speed automatic
transmission for good gearing around town and the benefit of
highway-friendly overdrive. Plus, the Mustang II-style independent
front suspension offers a nice feel and the front disc brakes give
you true confidence on the road.
This has the extra features that most others wish they had on their
replicas. So at a price like this, you know this Gazelle will be
leaping out of our showroom shortly. Call today!!! (Titled as a
1982 Mercedes and has 3 brands: "Exempt", "Reconstructed" and
