This 1974 Chevrolet Nova has a unique style that makes for a
V8-powered classic that will have plenty of stories to tell. So dig
into the details, because this is a classic with true
personality.
A Nova upgraded to black always commands attention. There's a
sleekness here that shows off the iconic body lines, and this was
the final year for this very desirable generation. And speaking of
the model year, keen eyes will notice this has the cleaner front
end of the pre-1973 cars. So this has interesting details where the
front chrome bumper hugs the form better, but the rear one is
notched for the license plate. And the later-style thicker c-pillar
looks more authoritative. Part of that imposing attitude also comes
from the larger American Racing icon cross style wheels. The larger
rear tires and a hint of the traction bars really make for a sporty
stance. So it's a total package that looks distinct without losing
that driver-ready look and attitude you love in a Nova.
The black interior is quite inviting. Good carpeting, a smooth
dash, clean door panels, newer upholstery, and a taut headliner
make for good fundamentals. Even the dome light works. But what's
most attractive is its driver-oriented style. You have high-back
front bucket seats, a three-spoke sports steering wheel, a Cheetah
SCS shifter, and a full Speedhut gauge package with large speedo
and tach. Under the hood is a solid small block upgrade. The 350
cubic-inch V8 has all the right performance enhancements. This
includes a Holley four-barrel carburetor, a Weiand Team G intake,
and an Accel Super Coil. Plus, the headers add even more power as
they also contribute to the rumble of the H-pipe dual exhaust. As
you look underneath, you'll also spot the right supporting
component, like subframe connectors, traction bars, and a Mr.
Gasket diff cover. While this has enhanced power and poise, it also
was built to be an all-around cruiser. So you have a three-speed
automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, and front
discs.
This is one of the most desirable generations to own a Nova, and
this example does it uniquely without taking away from the vintage
style. So if you love a distinctly upgraded classic that was made
to be enjoyed, call today!
