1989 JAGUAR XJ-S
CONVERTIBLE
In 1975 Jaguar Cars found itself in a difficult predicament. How to
replace the legendary XK-E? Jaguar decides to go all in on building
a high speed luxury touring car to go head to head against Mercedes
- the XJ-S. Based on the XJ saloon, the new Jag was a large, by
European standards, two door touring coupe with and automatic that
was, believe it or not, more aerodynamic than the E type.
The big change was a V-12 motor which would be its crowning feature
until the model was retired in 1995.
In 1988, Jaguar introduced a convertible version of the XJ-S which
became very popular. Between 1988 and 1991 over 12,000 were built.
We are offering a magnificent 1989 version of the XJ-S.
This Jag is in stunning red with a perfect tan leather interior. It
has a black canvas top. It has power seats, power steering, power
top and power brakes. The power comes from the original V-12
attached to the original GM automatic.
She comes with tools and stacks of information.
An absolutely stunning car built by the legendary Jaguar Cars with
a V-12 7,800 miles; believed to be per owner, title states
exempt.
