Vehicle Description
A steel-bodied 1930 Ford Model A five-window coupe meets upgraded
V8 power, an upgraded suspension, a hot flame-kissed style, and a
cool A/C interior to deliver an iconic hot rod that's also a
terrific cruiser.
The bold shade of yellow has the vibrant look you want in a coupe
like this, and it also isn't so new that you'll be afraid to take
it out every Saturday night (hot rods were made for cruising,
right?) And because this color looks as hot as the surface of the
sun, it seems like a good pairing of custom orange flames on the
fenders and down the profile. The red pinstriping outlining the
flames helps to also establish the pinstripe color theme seen on
the rest of the car. So you can tell it's a thoughtful build. There
are more custom details, like the shaved door handles, deleted
bumpers, and polished long dual exhaust tips. But even with these
upgrades, this still retains the right vintage look with a steel
body, waterfall grille, textured hard rubber running board covers,
and tilt-out windshield. Probably the best way to really see this
mix of classic and new is with the wheels. You get classic red
steelies with two-piece trim and whitewalls. But the fenders are
fiberglass to make sure that the larger rear set is properly
covered under the swoopy lines.
The vivid red interior is quite striking. The bucket seats have a
classic tuck and roll pattern that coordinates with the door
panels. And everything from carpeting to trunk has a look of
quality. It was thoughtfully done, right down to details like the
black piping and a dome light that greets you when the door opens.
There are nice amenities that they didn't even dream of in 1932,
like power windows, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, 6x9 speakers, and
recently serviced cold-blowing air conditioning. And this classic
is a better driver with Stewart Warner readouts filling the dash
and a three-spoke steering wheel on a newer Ididit tilt column.
Under the hood, this one keeps a cool hot rod attitude going with
an upgrade to 351 Cleveland V8. The fundamentals like belts, hoses,
and wires have a clean and tidy style. Plus, there are newer
components like a master cylinder and water pump. It's a nice power
package that makes a nice tune out of the dual exhaust. It fires up
eagerly and the three-speed automatic transmission was rebuilt in
2021 to make sure it shifts confidently and smoothly. Add in power
brakes, front discs, and a four-link rear with coilovers, and this
'30 Ford coupe is a true hot rod that truly feels good on the
road.
