This 1965 Chevrolet Impala SS custom hardtop is nicknamed "The
Black Beast" after Houston's own UFC heavyweight contender, Derrick
"The Black Beast" Lewis. Just like Lewis, this real SS packs a
knockout punch with a monstrous 502ci big block V8 engine residing
under the hood. Rated at 600hp and 500 ft/lbs of torque, it's been
equipped with a Crane hydraulic roller cam, Crane roller rocker
arms, Edelbrock aluminum intake, Holley double-pumper carburetor,
GM HEI ignition and ceramic-coated Hooker headers with a true dual
3-inch exhaust. The rear end is a GM 12-bolt with 3.73 gears and
posi-traction. A new 4-row, the heavy-duty core radiator was also
installed to ensure things stay cool. Speaking of staying cool,
this Impala SS features air conditioning and blows ice cold. The
engine bay has a menacing look with almost everything blacked out
and red lettering, along with red LED lighting. The stance is
provided by coilovers in the front and air shocks with lowering
springs in the rear and helps tuck the 18- and 20-inch U.S. Wheel
smoothies wrapped in custom Hankook redline tires from Diamond Back
Classic Radials. Hiding behind the smoothies are front disc brakes
with drums in the rear, both serviced in May 2022. Four new LED
projector headlights update the look of the Impala SS while greatly
increasing night visibility for the driver. The interior features
factory SS bucket seats, factory gauges, factory console, new
carpet and black with red SS floor mats. This sale comes with a
binder of receipts going back to 1987, owners manual and
Protect-O-Plate.
