Vehicle Description
1999 Chevrolet Corvette - Rare Fixed Roof Coupe - Black on Black -
5.7L V8 FI - 6 Speed Manual - 28k Miles - Always Dealer Serviced -
Collector Example Designated as the fifth generation of the
Chevrolet Corvette, the C5 was produced from 1997 through the 2004
model years. With variations like the Z06, this generation of
Corvettes included performance that was more in the realm of
bargain supercar. The newly designed C5 was both lighter and
stiffer than the previous C4 Corvettes and included many upgrades
that make these vehicles quite desirable among collectors and those
in the racing community. By introducing the world to the
all-aluminum LS V8, undoubtedly one of the best engines ever made,
the C5 Corvette cemented its place in collector car history. For
the initial production year, the Corvette was only available as a
coupe with a removable roof panel but was shortly offered as a
convertible for the 1998 model year and a hardtop (also referred to
as the Fixed Roof Coupe) for 1999. Aside from the cosmetic
differences (new wheel styles, paint colors, pace car/commemorative
editions in 1998, 2003 and 2004), engine power increased as well as
new offerings for optional equipment were presented. One of the
more high-tech options introduced in the C5 Corvette was a heads-up
display (or HUD), while another innovation was the Active Handling
System (first available as an option in 1998, then standard on all
2001 models). Highlighted here is a 1999 Chevrolet Corvette Fixed
Roof Coupe. This body style, as the name suggest, featured a fixed
top (no removable targa top panel as with the fastback coupe) with
a roofline shape and trunk space like that of the convertible.
Sporting a black-on-black color combination, this Corvette is
undoubtably a true beauty. Driven by a 5.7L V8 FI and 6-speed
manual transmission that has always been dealer serviced, any
Corvette enthusiast, collector or novice would be happy to have.
Noted with only 28k miles it is apparent that this C5 is truly a
collector example of the American icon. The driver and passenger
are met with leather wrapped bucket seats as well as many modern
conveniences. Some of them include floor mats for both front wheel
wells as well as a 12-disc CD changer located in the trunk.
Overall, the interior cabin is clean and is ready for the next
owner's next adventure. With close to a quarter million Corvettes
being produced from 1997 to 2004, any collector might just overlook
this C5. But as any Corvette enthusiast and collector would tell
you, it's all about the condition and maintenance that make a
Corvette desirable. This C5 Corvette is truly exceptional, and we
hope you take the time to check it out for your next addition.
