Vehicle Description
1994 Jaguar XJS V12 Convertible - Same Owner Since 1997 - 6.0L V12
- 46k Original Miles - Serviced at Prestige Imports - All Stock,
Original Example - 2019 Service: All Belts, Water Pump, Thermostat
Originally developed using the platform of the then-current XJ
saloon, the XJ-S was noted for its prominent rear buttresses. The
early styling was partially by Jaguar's aerodynamicist Malcolm
Sayer, one of the first designs to apply advanced aero principles
to automobiles, however Sayer died before the design could be
finalized. Ultimately categorized as a luxury grand tourer, the
XJ-S was manufactured from 1975 to 1996 and was offered in coupe,
fixed-profile, and full convertible body styles. There were three
distinct iterations, with a final production total of 115,413 unit
over the 20+ years. In its final generation produced from 1991 to
1996, after Jaguar was acquired by Ford, vehicles were introduced
with numerous modifications and the hyphen in the name was
eliminated simply being further referred to as the XJS. As part of
the redesign under the Ford Motor Company, the XJS retained the
buttresses that gave the vehicle its character. The car received a
new 4.0-litre version of the AJ6 straight-six engine. The V12
engine's capacity was enlarged to 6.0 litres and had a power output
of 304 hp. A 2+2 convertible was added to the lineup as was a
customized insignia line. Other changes included more aerodynamic
front and rear bumpers as well as an update to the instrument
cluster design. The XJS was discontinued in 1996, after 21 years of
production and was superseded by the XK8. Highlighted here is a
1994 XJS V12 convertible. Noted as having the same owner since
1997, this all stock, original convertible is everything that
luxury Jaguar is known for. Shown in a white over tan color
combination, this 2+2 configuration is perfect for either a Sunday
cruiser or your next road trip. There are some decent areas of
concern including the cracked front bumper and paint chips that run
along the bottom edge on both sides. Jaguar has noted that this is
a luxury vehicle by incorporating gold into the accents like
pinstriping the runs the entire length of the body and inset among
the chrome rims. The tan leather interior and corresponding
convertible top show well. Both the front buckets and rear bench
are taut and have very minimal signs of wear. The dash is offset
with wood accents that are glossy and provide a warmth that the
somewhat plain interior really needs. With perks like power
mirrors, power top, power seats and a CD changer in the trunk, this
convertible could be considered quite modern for its age. The top
shows well and the cover is included with the vehicle. Powered by a
6.0L V12 engine and automatic transmission, this XJS has a lot of
life left to live. Noted with 46k original miles and being serviced
at Prestige Imports, we can only imagine that this Jaguar truly
purrs. The previous owner reports that a service was completed in
2019 and included all new belts, a new water pump and thermostat.
Although the XJS may not be the most famous Jaguar, it is still
quite an impressive convertible. This is the perfect chance for any
enthusiast to own the Jaguar name and be introduced into the Jaguar
family. We encourage you to check out this mild luxury vehicle.
