This beautiful 1949 Dodge Wayfarer just underwent a complete, sympathetic, body-off restoration. It is completely stock and almost 100% original. The radiator, battery, wiring, and various hoses and seals have all been replaced. Everything else is original to the car. The engine has been completely rebuilt with new pistons at 30 thousandths oversized. The d24 inline flathead 6-cylinder engine is both smooth and quiet. It has an unusual 3-speed fluid drive transmission with a manual 3-speed shifter on the column, but it is also equipped with a torque converter for easier driving. The frame and suspension members have been treated with Por 15 and are completely free of rust. The wiring has been lovingly redone with period-accurate cotton threaded wire. The interior seats and liners are completely original. The body has been painted a vibrant green color matching its original factory color with just a bit of pearl in the undercoats of the clear to create a beautiful gleam in the sunshine. It runs and drives well, and cruizing in it is like taking a trip back in time. It has been a 4-year labor of love to restore this wonderful car. I hope that it ends up with someone who can truly enjoy it!
