I am selling a beautiful, rare, mostly original, 1950 Chrysler Imperial. I'm the second owner and have had the car for 26 years. The engine, a flathead straight 8, was completely rebuilt at 35k miles and now only has 78k. The Presto-Matic automatic transmission works great, 5 Speed. At the time I had the engine rebuilt, the car was also completely rewired. Everything works, including the power windows, the AM tube radio, the clock, the heater, and all the lights. I also added lap seat belts, 2 in front and 2 in the back. This car has been in for a final inspection and repairs. It has a new battery, new brakes, and fully serviced. This car been kept in a garage for 26 years and driven somewhat regularly. It's in excellent running condition, with no future issues. The paint is still the original color with some minor damage on the driver door and a couple of small oxidation marks, which is a natural patina for a 73 year old car. The chrome is in excellent condition, with minor dents on two small panel pieces, yet it is all there. This car was never in an accident. No dents in the body, and no rust. The seats have been recovered in the same wool mohair. The headliner and quilted doors are still original. There are factory inspection stamps on the firewall and factory OK inspection stickers. Chrysler hubcaps and tires are in great condition with a spare in the back. The details are classic and stunning! Huge bakelite steering wheel, back seat decorative ash tray, butlers finish dashboard, power windows that run off the battery, and more. I take it out to drive regularly, yet only put about 2k miles a year on the car at most. I have a battery tender to keep it charged. Still the 6V battery. This Imperial has always been well maintained, and driven carefully. This extraordinary Chrysler was featured in the San Francisco Chronicle My Ride bio in 2016.
