Crown is excited to welcome this 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass S. Located
in sunny Tucson Arizona, transported anywhere in the world, this
classic muscle car wants to continue to flex its muscles! The 1971
Cutlass S is part of the second generation of Cutlass models
(1968-1972). The Cutlass "S" line, upon which the 442 muscle car
was based, became one of the most popular models in the Cutlass
lineup. This Cutlass S resto mod takes it to the next level!
This Cutlass S engine was built very close to the specs of a Car
Craft magazine 455 build. This engine, with Edelbrock aluminum
heads and next level XE284H cam, is estimated at 480 horsepower
with 550 torque. One heck of a motor with more raw horsepower than
Oldsmobile (or anyone else) produced from the factory back in
1971!
This very street-able engine provides the best of both worlds..
purrs at cruising speeds and makes BIG power (at higher RPM) when
you put your foot into it! There is literally nothing under the
hood that wasn't upgraded, including Desert Cooler radiator,
high-performance starter and aluminum pulley set. Aligned with the
new engine, the transmission also received a high-performance
upgrade replacement with an Art Carr 200-4R Extreme Duty 4-Speed
(Overdrive) Automatic with 10" Heavy-Duty Super Torque Converter.
The rear was upgraded to a 12 Bolt unit completely rebuilt w/ Eaton
Posi and 3.55 Ratio Gears. Exhaust now flows rather awesomely
through ceramic coated Hooker Super Competition 1 ?" Headers into a
complete stainless steel MagnaFlow Performance 3" Dual w/ Tru-X
Pipe.
Absolutely gorgeous "Maui Blue". The interior received a new OE
carpet but otherwise the dash, door panels, rear seat and headliner
and arm rests are in excellent condition. The factory bench front
seat is upgraded to Pro-Car Custom Bucket Seats.
The non-tach factory gauges have been upgraded to a show quality.
Rally Pack and Tach setup as was factory equipped on 1970-72
Cutlass/442 with Rally Pack option. Newly installed aftermarket
vintage air conditioning. Front end completely rebuilt. New tires.
Tinted windows. New shocks. New Horseshoe shifter with center
console. Along with new wheel cylinders and brake lines, the
suspension was upgraded with stainless steel front disc brake
conversion, w/ heavy duty 1-" front sway bar (bigger than a 442),
heavy duty boxed rear control arms w/ 1" rear sway bar. The front
Cutlass grille was replaced with a new 1971 442 grille and matching
black headlight surrounds that look great with the black racing
stripes. Has Oldsmobile original style rubber floor mats and
full-size trunk mat.
Total investment in upgrades alone exceeds $30K (before labor
expense). We have a history of vehicle upgrades. Runs/drives
superbly.
