Start talking classics and the second-generation Bel Air is almost
always directly referenced. Offered in trim levels ranging from
stripped economy champ to brassy boulevard bomber, Chevrolet
produced tri-fives that were capable of satisfying nearly every
buyer and every wallet. That legacy of universal appeal has
continued throughout the last 65 years, giving fans and aficionados
the parts and inspiration to create their own unique hot rods. Take
this alluring 210 for example. Backing 350 cubic inches of massaged
small block with a smooth 4-speed and modern athletics, this
tastefully modified Chevy turns a traditionally appealing platform
into a head-turning super star. Ready to hit the streets in some
choice Motor City metal? Check out this sweet double-nickel!
CLASSIC STYLE
The beneficiary of a detailed, ground-up restoration that was
completed to a very high level, this slick 210 is an excellent
example of what happens when an enthusiast builds their dream car!
A series of solid body panels displays great fit and excellent
finish. Professionally sprayed two-stage seals noble pigment in a
glossy, wet-look shine. And the result is one very well done
pavement scorcher that'll drop jaws at whatever event it rocks!
At the front of the car's glowing profile, a shaved bumper guards a
polished grille, clear parking lamps and traditional,
stainless-trimmed headlights. At the top of that grille, a bright
Chevrolet crest leads a familiar Jetbird, which looks great in
front of smoked glass that's stacked under polished frames and
polished wipers. At the sides of that glass, a familiar post
profile flies ornate quarter spears behind a power antenna and
classy "Chevrolet" fender scripts. And at the back of the car, a
massaged trunk hangs a second Chevrolet crest between a guarded
bumper, polished exhaust tips and bright LED taillights.
PROVEN POWER
If you think the exterior of this classic is impressive, you're
going to LOVE what's under its hood! Smooth, sorted and ready to
roll, the car's high performance 350 is widely regarded as one of
the best small blocks ever produced. At the top of the handsome
mill, a polished air filter floats a reusable Spectre element on a
reliable Edelbrock 4-barrel. That electronically choked carb feeds
a lightweight Chevrolet intake, which feeds choice Vortec heads
that are dressed in understated valve covers. A hot Delco Remy HEI
distributor sequences sparks through quality Taylor plug wires.
Lucid serpentine components spin a modern alternator opposite a
modern AC compressor. A polished cap joins a sculpted shroud to
dress a big radiator. And, visually, not a detail was missed in
this 210's Gloss Black engine bay!
GREAT DRIVE
Park this sedan on a lift and you'll find solid, fully undercoated
floors that provide a clean backdrop for a roster of proven
components. A reliable 700R4 4-speed twists power to a 10-bolt
rear-clip, which is finished with relocated springs and a beefy
sway bar. That clip pushes a traditional front-half that features a
second beefy sway bar. Easy turns come courtesy of traditional
power steering. Easy stops are provided by power assisted discs and
power assisted drums. Charred dinosaurs float from long-tube
headers into aluminized pipes, which thread throaty turbo mufflers
in front of a relocated fuel tank. And torque transitions to
pavement through polished Boyd Coddington blades, which wear
215/55R17 Kumho Ecstas in front of 255/55R17 Kumho Ecstas.
SWEET CRUISE
Climb inside this razor-sharp Chevy and you'll find a retro chic
interior that's all Delray. Embedding clean waffle stitching in
crisp, color-keyed vinyl, the car's broad bench seats are straight
up awesome! A two-tone dash fashions controls for modern air
conditioning around tidy Classic Instruments telemetry. Delray-spec
Daytona Carpet floats rugged floor mats between Delray side panels
and a familiar Lokar shifter. The driver spins a timeless Chevrolet
Rally Wheel around a tilting column. And the car's electronic trunk
disposes of its factory spare tire well to make ample room for
supplies and trophies.
Combining great performance with crisp aesthetics and timeless
Motor City swagger, this impressive 210 really puts the "class" in
classic. And best of all, being a tri-five Chevy, it'll always be
one of the most in-demand collector cars on the market. On the hunt
for some no excuses metal that'll draw a crowd wherever it goes?
Here's your kind of fun!
