Vehicle Description
GR Auto Gallery is please to present this all steel, high quality
1930 Ford Model A Coupe street rod. This is built using an
authentic Dearborn body and was built in class rod fashion
utilizing the front i-beam style axle with gash shocks, power wheel
power brakes, coil over front suspension and solid rear axle. The
cabin area has been chopped approximately 3 inches to lower the
roofline of the car.
The motor is a 302 Ford V8 professionally prepared by Roush
Performance engineering, power is transferred by a C6 automatic
transmission and applied by a Ford 9" rear end. Other highlights
include: Ididit tilt steering column, forged aluminum wheels, steel
flared fenders and running boards, Ford Racing aluminum heads, GT
steering wheel, Lokar shifter, custom headers and Flomaster
exhaust.
The car is finished in Raven Black exterior paint. The body
exhibits excellent panel fit and overall high-quality workmanship.
The exterior paint remains deep and glossy with no noticeable
chips, scratches or major imperfections. The car was completed
approximately 15 years ago and the restoration still stands tall
with no shrinkage which is a testimony to the quality of the
work.
The frame and underside have been restored to the same level as the
rest of the car. It appears structurally excellent, clean, and
detailed. Modern suspension componentry is visible along with new
grommets, hardware, bushings, etc. throughout. The interior is
fully upholstered, the painted dash is excellent and the
white-faced gauges are a good compliment in appearance and
function.
The engine and engine bay area are clean and appear as new. The
motor has been properly dressed with high quality componentry
throughout.
Mechanically, this is one of the best performing and well balanced
street rods of this era that have graced the floor of the GR Auto
Gallery. The motor is powerful and complimented by a proper stall
converter. It starts easy, it seems to have the perfect cam set up
with just the right amount of lump, it has a good consistent idle,
it does not lurch and stall in tight garage or parking maneuvers,
and it has a smooth, powerful take off once the throttle is
punched. The steering and suspension are tight and braking is
smooth. A professional build that gives confidence to the
driver.
Driven just 692 miles since completion, this 1930 Ford Model A
Rumble Seat Street Rod is dialed in and ready to show and go. It is
titled as a 1930 Ford Model A with the original VIN of the car.
