1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Tribute - 2 Door SportsRoof - Grabber Blue
Paint - Black Interior - 351ci V8 - Automatic Gearbox - Clean
American Muscle For Mustang fans, 1969 represented a notable
highpoint for performance offerings. Along with Shelby models and
the new Boss 429, Ford also released the first-generation of the
Mustang Mach 1. The Mach 1 was only offered in the Sportsroof
fastback design, it came with upgraded suspension and a host of
visual extras. This included the option of a Shaker hood, intended
to feed cool air directly into the engine. The hood scoop was the
hint of the real power that lay beneath the hood. Ford offered the
351-cubic inch (5.8-litre) Cleveland V8 as the basic option for the
Mach 1. This came with 250 hp and 355 lbs-ft of torque but could be
upgraded to 290hp and 385lb-ft with the 'M-Code' option. These
upgrades transformed the Mustang into a serious performance car,
propelling the Mach 1 to set almost 300 speed and endurance
records. If not enough the Mach 1 would also win back-to-back SCCA
Manufacturer's Road Rally Championships. Needless to say, values on
these cars have sky-rocketed making it difficult to want to buy a
true Mach 1 and drive it like Ford Engineers intended. Featured
here is a very accurate Mach 1 tribute with some added performance
upgrades making it a much more affordable car to purchase and
enjoy. The paint on this Mustang has been professionally applied
over well executed body work and has been finished in Grabber Blue
Dupont Chroma Based paint and the hood has been treated to Centeri
Black flattened to 25%. The finish has been polished and buffed to
a deep luster and Mach 1 decals have been correctly applied. Bumper
chrome and related stainless presents with a rich shine. Other
features include the correct racing-inspired elements include the
matte-black scooped hood and hood pins, rear spoiler, rear hatch
louvers and front chin spoiler. Inside the cabin presents as well
restored and maintained and features new seat upholstery, carpet,
and headliner. Door and rear panels appear original and are in very
good condition. Pioneer speakers have been tastefully installed
into the rear panels along with a set of Pioneer 6x9 speakers in
the rear package tray powered by a Custom Autosound AM/FM radio
with AUX outlet to play tunes through your phone or MP3 player. The
factory dash gauge cluster is present including 120 mph
speedometer, oil pressure, temperature gauge and amp meter along
with a dash mounted clock and the optional deluxe Mach 1 wood trim
steering wheel. An AutoMeter Sport Comp Tachometer is tastefully
mounted to the steering column and a set of AutoMeter Autogauge
mechanical oil and temperature gauges are mounted in the console.
The automatic transmission is shifted with a Hurst Quarter Stick
Shifter that has been mounted cleanly in the factory console. The
underbody presents as unrestored with clean floors, free of any
rust through with no indication of any rust or accident repair. The
unibody construction has been further stiffened up with aftermarket
subframe connectors. The C-4 transmission features a Hughes 3500
stall convertor and transfers the power back to a Ford 9
differential filled with 3.89:1 gears and limited slip carrier.
Aftermarket traction bars are bolted to the rear springs to prevent
wind up and put the power to the pavement. The Ford V8 breathes
through a set of dual exhaust with by-pass exhaust cut outs, and
new brake and fuel lines were installed during the rebuild. The
factory gas tank has been modified with deep sump pick up and dual
electric fuel pumps and regulators. This combination rolls on a set
of chrome Magnum 500 wheels, 15 x7 upfront and 15x8 out back,
wrapped in Hoosier raised white letter radial tires. Under the hood
is well detailed and clean and shines with a set of chrome Moroso
valve covers and chrome open element air cleaner but this
powerplant is far from being all show. The heart of this Mustang i
