This is an amazing 1956 Ford Crown Victoria. Of all the iconic Fords ever built, this one is an outstanding restored beauty in stunning condition. The bright work on this car is gorgeous! She is a great running, driving car equipped with automatic transmission and the displacement on the original motor is 292 cubic inches. The beautiful white and yellow paint along with the white wall tires on this car make it the ultimate beauty to take out on a summer night for ice cream. In fact, we’ve nicknamed her “the banana split”. This car presents as a stunning Americana piece of history that makes you want to be a part of it.

Serial No. (VIN) M6GW100699 info: "M" = Y-Block V8 Thunderbird V-8 292-cid 200/202-hp; "6" = 1956; "G" = Assembly Plant - Chicago, IL; "W" = Body Style - Fairlane Crown Victoria; "100699" = Number assigned by plant when assembled for model year (Note: Numbering started with 100001, so yours was the #699 in actual production).
Data/Patent Plate Info: 64A A AD 9 J DS8: Body "64A" = Fairlane Crown Victoria; Color "A " = Raven Black (Ford M1724). Note: In this Patent Plate, I believe the A color would have been a solid paint color (Note: Since this vehicle is clearly Goldenglow Yellow (M code) and Colonial White (E code) , it would appear the original order was changed to ME during the build process; Trim (interior) "AD" = White Vinyl and Black Cloth; Production Code: "9" and “J” = The Day and Month (code) the build was completed (in this case, the 9th of September) and “DS8” would usually be the sequence number assigned by the plant for all vehicles (all models) scheduled for assembly in Louisville on the date indicated.
(Note: I found a note in the documentation which explains that some sequence numbers include numbers or letters to indicate production variances or special orders. So, I’m wondering if the sequence number of “DS8” might actually represent a “Delete” (D - the Raven Black single color), a “Special Paint” (S) (Fairlane option ME where the M color would have been applied below the side molding and on the roof and the second color would have been applied above the side molding only), and the “8” representing the actual sequence number assigned by the plant for all vehicles (all models) scheduled for assembly in Chicago on the date indicated. (Note: Please understand that these are my guestimates on what the sequence number of the production code might stand for. Would have to find and consult the actual “Build Sheet” to verify or clarify the Production Code sequence.)
