The Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner was one of the most innovative
models produced by Ford in the 1950's. Ford wanted to provide their
customers with the ability to enjoy some top-down cruising while
retaining the styling and durability of a hardtop coupe. Though the
Skyliner was an expensive option ($340), it was an instant hit with
the public. Ford offered the Skyliner for a brief, three year
period starting in 1957 and ending with the 1959 production year.
This 1959 Ford Fairlane 500 Galaxie Skyliner is a very nice, driver
quality example of these great automobiles that presents very well
in its two-tone, Colonial White and Red exterior. The exterior
paint shines very well with only minor defects in the paint.
Complimenting the exterior of this Ford Skyliner are a set of
Kelsey-Hayes style, wire wheels wrapped in wide, white wall Coker
Classic radial tires. The factory-style, Red, White and Black
vinyl/cloth interior presents very well with only minor wear
present. Powering this great Ford is its correct, 352 cubic inch V8
backed by its 3-speed, automatic, Cruise-O-Matic transmission. Both
the engine and transmission perform just as they should without
issue. This Galaxie Skyliner is nicely equipped with options such
as: power steering, power windows, heater/defrost, AM/FM stereo
(in-op), variable speed wipers, and fully automatic power
retractable hardtop. If you are in the market for a Ford Skyliner
that is turn-key ready for that nice, Sunday cruise and will
present well at your local cruise-in/car show, then you will want
to take a close look at this great, 1959 Ford Fairlane 500 Galaxie
Skyliner.
