Vehicle Description
West Coast Classics presents an exceptional and highly desirable
example of this second generation (1958-60) of Thunderbirds, a
beautiful high quality restoration example of this 1959 Ford
Thunderbird 2 door Hardtop with a 352 c.i. 300HP 4BBL V8 engine
matched to it's original 3 speed 'Cruise-O-Matic' automatic
transmission in completely rust free condition in it's original
factory 'Indian Turquoise' color paint with it's original two-tone
matching Green amp; White interior and with factory options
including bucket seats, rare working factory 'Select-Aire' air
conditioning, power steering, power brakes, power windows, original
AM radio, heater amp; defroster, Lifeguard cushioned sun visors and
instrument panel, seat belts, tinted glass, electric clock,
automatic dome light, courtesy light, glove box amp; trunk light,
full wheel covers, rear skirts and wide White wall tires and
striking Continental kit! By 1958 Ford was betting the farm on a
totally revamped line of full-size cars as well as the totally new
compact Falcon. The first of the four seater Thunderbirds were
nicknamed the 'Squarebird' because of their 'boxy' lines and wide
pillar roof, which would go on to be applied to other Ford models
from Galaxies and Falcons into the 60's, along with plenty of their
competitors too. A slow starter as far as collectibles, these are
coming of age now and starting to enjoy a strong following,
especially obviously amongst Ford enthusiasts. This particular car
boasts it's original and very striking 'Indian Turquoise' factory
color paint with a matching two-tone vinyl bucket seats interior
which was restored to original specs for it's previous owners with
no expense spared and which was obviously a serious restoration a
shown by its remarkable condition showing pride of ownership
throughout. The floor boards, trunk and all the typical rust-prone
areas are completely solid and rust-free - obviously an always
garaged and cherished car since new. The 352 c.i 300HP V8 engine is
extremely strong and powerful and this particular car drives
extremely well and must be driven to be fully appreciated. The
transmission shifts smoothly through all the gears and the
temperature always remains cool! This is a rare opportunity to own
a great daily driving and never abused example of an obviously
always garaged long time owned and cherished rust free 1959 Ford
Thunderbird 2 Door Hardtop in very fine condition throughout.
