Ohhhhh, the air cooled Porsche! In 1998 Porsche built the last of
their legendary air cooled engines and went to the dark side as
many people said with the water cooled setup the following year.
Although the air cooled limited the performance and horsepower that
it could create it still had an intoxicating sound for the driver
to enjoy. Next year entered the 996 with its fried egg headlights
and plastic interior that compounded the water cooled switch even
more to the Porsche enthusiasts.
Offered here is a collectors dream. This 1998 Porsche Carrera
cabriolet with just over 50k miles has so much to offer. It
represents the final production year of the 993 and is optioned
extremely well that sets it apart from the others. First off it is
only a two owner vehicle with the past owner having it in his
garage since 2002. Both previous owners were avid Porsche
collectors and long standing PCA members in Michigan. It was
handpicked with the triple silver setup with Arctic Silver Metallic
paint, classic grey leather interior and classic grey soft top.
Further it has unique features that were rarely seen on a 993;
AM/FM stereo with CD, heated front seats, power seat package,
Porsche colored crest in wheels, stainless steel exhaust pipes,
classic grey floor mats, Porsche wind stop and the 17in Targa
wheels. Our research shows only 1,339 cabriolets were produced and
this could be 1 of 1 with this color setup with the factory spec
17in Targa wheels.
Vehicle was routinely serviced and maintained properly by the two
previous owners and received yearly attention. Vehicle comes with a
file of service records, factory owner's manuals with leather case,
original convertible boot cover, original MSRP, Certificate of
Authenticity from Porsche, original ad when sold by first owner,
delivery worksheet when sold new and both factory keys with key
fobs. Vehicle retains the original floor mats, Porsche wind stop,
car cover and proper option code stickers. Front bumper was
resprayed in 2018 for stone chips and the rear quarter stone guards
were replaced at that time. Factory mufflers were replaced with a
B&B muffler setup by original owner and provides just a bit
more sound then the factory setup.
This isn't just another Porsche, it is a significant setup and
properly maintained and well loved by the previous owner. You will
be very hard pressed to find a 1998 cabriolet for sale let alone
one with great history, highly documented and in such a rare setup.
Dump the underperforming stock and bonds and invest in a blue chip
like this one and you will never regret it!
