Vehicle Description
This 1969 Chevrolet Corvette has its numbers-matching L46, and you
get to fully harness it with the numbers-matching four-speed. But
what makes this such an attractive classic is the full midnight
package. So you have a classic Stingray that's a blast to drive,
and it really knows how to turn heads everywhere you go.
Tuxedo Black looks terrific on a Stingray. This was an upgrade as
part of a frame-off restoration in the early 2000s, and the
restorer was a long-term owner (about 20 years) who kept it under
proper garage care. So it continues to look especially attractive
as the sunlight rolls across the shark-like nose, rounded fenders,
and flying buttresses of the rear. And when you have a glossy black
car, only the best brightwork will do. After all, it needs to
contrast the color but be united in an appealing shine. Even the
fundamentals look good with the flush-resting headlights,
well-fitting T-tops, pliable weather-stripping, clean glass, fresh
emblems, and doors that close with confidence. The overall
impression is that this one knows how to impress while also making
sure you know it's really made to be driven.
The black interior delivers the ultra-desirable full blackout
package. It's a nice place to spend some time with a clean and dark
look that reminds you of the restoration's quality. You've got all
the right essentials with high-back bucket seats finished in
leather, a sports steering wheel on a tilt/telescopic column, and a
shifter that's just calling out for your right hand. And lovers of
classic style will enjoy details, like the working fiber optics.
You'll find a few items to restore that may add to your enjoyment,
like the R134a air conditioning, but it's just nice to have the
main components already in place. Plus, this is from the years of
the removable rear window. So when you power down the windows and
take the T-tops out, you get a terrific breeze flowing through the
car. Its also nice to see an upgraded AM/FM/CD player in the back
with aftermarket speakers!
Under the hood is the numbers-matching 350 cubic-inch V8. This was
the larger-power optional small block for '69, and so it offers a
nice balance of power and weight. That's why it has been treated
with the right care to be a proper driver. It was rebuilt around
2001 with the initial restoration, and it also has been given solid
investments in 2022. So now you have a new Holley four-barrel
carburetor sitting on top of an Edelbrock Torker intake. And the
chambered dual exhaust system lets this one make the right kind of
mean sound you want in an all-black Corvette. The numbers-matching
Muncie four-speed manual transmission has a new shifter assembly to
give you firm control over the motor and its rumble. And you can
confidently brake thanks to updates to the four-wheel power discs,
like a new master cylinder, new rear pads, and new rear caliper.
Add in the power steering, wide BF Goodrich T/As, and the fully
independent suspension with updated components, and you have a
great driver's classic.
The sale comes complete with the owner's manual, build receipts,
maintenance records, and restoration photos. Midnight style, good
history, and a driver-ready attitude make for an awesome total
package. So don't miss this Stingray, call today!
