Vehicle Description
1963 Plymouth Fury - 440ci V8 - 4 Speed Manual - White and Red
Exterior - Red Interior Garage Kept Motors is excited to feature
this cool example of American Muscle for sale. This 1963 Plymouth
Fury is reminiscent of the days when pure muscle roamed streets
such as Woodward Avenue and similar boulevards across the US.
Originally equipped with a 383 V8 when new, this Fury was an
intimidating car when it originally drove off the dealership floor,
however this car has been modified with a 440 V8 and narrowed rear
end and tubbed to fit some big meats out back to put the power to
the pavement. While the resto-mod is older on this Plymouth, she
still looks great and is ready to cruise the local shows or your
hometown main drag! This car features an older refinish in white
paint is starting to show its age around the edges with some small
chips, minor scratches, and some cracking across the various body
panels but still presents well with a nice shine. All the stainless
trim and chrome is in place and while there is some light patina
and scratches it still gives off a nice luster. The underbody of
the car looks solid, and the fabrication of the rear subframe
narrowing and rear wheel tubs were professionally executed. A
narrowed 9 Ford rear end equipped with a limited slip differential
was installed. The gas tank was removed, and a large fuel cell was
added to the trunk. This Fury has a menacing stance with big meaty
tires out back and tall thin tires up front, all mounted on alloy
wheels. This Plymouth sits up with a tough stance with a slight
forward rake, frankly this car looks fast just sitting still.
Inside the car is stock and sparse of any options. This car was no
doubt built with only one intent, keep this car lightweight and to
go fast. The door panels, carpet and headliner show some light
color fading. Seat upholstery is in very nice condition and is free
of any rips or splits. The factory gauge panel features the factory
voltmeter and temperature gauge, and the factory AM radio is still
in place. An AutoMeter Tachometer is mounted on the steering column
and a set of mechanical gauges monitor oil pressure and temperature
and are mounted in a custom panel along with the electric fuel pump
switch. The 4-speed manual is shifted by a Hurst shifter. Under the
hood is some light patina but it presents as well maintained. Under
the hood sits a 440 V8, topped with an Edelbrock intake and a
high-performance Holley carburetor. The engine is dressed with a
set of chrome valve covers and chrome open element air cleaner. The
air/fuel mixture is lit with a vintage Mallory electronic ignition
and the exhaust is expelled through a set of large tube headers
into a dual exhaust pipes with bullet mufflers that exit in front
of the rear tires. This hot set up is kept cool with a large
four-core brass/copper factory radiator set-up. To sit inside this
Fury and fire it up is a real experience that will takes you back
to a time when big cubic inches ruled the streets. This car is loud
and the rumbling idle will gives you goose bumps, and driving it is
inexplicable, and it is a lot to handle! Please call if interested
or e-mail with specific questions. Thank you for looking.
