Vehicle Description
Many people may not know this and is something that rarely happens.
GM in 1955 sold two completely different truck designs....The old
body style which was the same body that had been produced since
1947 and the all new body called the Task Force. This might be the
biggest body change difference from one year let alone the same
year. They were also offered with optional power steering, power
brakes and V8 engines. Also, a industry first was the wrap around
windshields and wrap around rear windows for the Deluxe models.
This particular truck has been lovingly owned by our consignor
since 1986 and he did a frame off restoration in the early 1990's.
Yes, thirty years ago, however the consignor is also a life long
body and paint guy that has done many restorations on older
vehicles both personal and for others. The paint looks no older
than five years old to me. The chrome, brite work, windows, seals
etc look fabulous. The engine is believed to be a 1968 Chevrolet
350 Cubic Inch V8 mated to a Automatic trans. There is no radio or
A/C . The heat, vents and lights work and this thing goes down the
road so nicely. It starts, sounds and idles better than new. The
interior and bed has been done nicely with great attention to
detail. This is not a truck that has been filled with bondo and
resprayed, it is metal with with the underside looking just as
nice.
