Vehicle Description
This 1979 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser has that cool classic 4x4 style
you love, and it turns it up a notch with upgraded exterior
features, bold paint, a custom interior, and a very unique roof
setup. It makes for a distinct classic that keeps its awesome
capability.
The Inca metallic gold color upgrade on this FJ40 just seems right.
After all, these 4x4s have a globetrotter reputation, and so it
should look like it just came out of a gold mine halfway around the
world. We're told this FJ40 completed restoration only about a year
ago, and the smooth feel of the paint reinforces this feeling of a
fresh investment. And we love the distinct creamy white that makes
up the grille and hood stripes. It goes well with the distinct
roof. It has the classic hardtop look supported by wraparound
windows in the rear, but there are full side and rear curtains. So
it gives you the best of both a hardtop and soft top all in one!
While the full color package has a nice shine, this one also has a
serious rugged attitude. It includes the diamond plate side steps,
full-size spare, jerrycan holder, a tow hitch, and large auxiliary
lights mounted in front. And those Mickey Thompson 15-inch wheels
add to both the shine and 4x4 stance.
The interior is both stylish and useful. There are nice updates
like the AM/FM/CD stereo with aux input, an anti-theft system, and
a horn/loudspeaker setup. Of course, what you'll likely appreciate
the most is the seating borrowed from a late-model Toyota. The far
better bolstering and large headrest make a big difference in the
comfort level. But this one also never loses its rugger FJ feeling.
Underneath the newer vinyl floor cover is a color-matched liner
paint. And this has a proper roll bar for added strength. And the
diver gets a well-done vintage style with the floor shifters,
grippy three-spoke steering wheel, and classic gauge panel with
km/h speedometer and handy auxiliary readouts.
The engine bay has the same clean look of a solid investment that
you see throughout this Land Cruiser. Even the decals look fresh.
The 4.2-liter inline-six is the backbone of the Land Cruiser's
tough-as-nails reputation, and this level of care means it remains
a strong runner. There are even good supporting components like a
newer radiator and an Optima yellow-top battery. The transmission
has been upgraded to a five-speed manual to give you better control
over this powerhouse. The upgraded 15-inch wheels have meaty
off-road tires, and so this is a proper go-anywhere 4x4. And power
steering, power brakes, and front discs make this easy to enjoy on
or off-road.
This is a rugged and distinctive classic 4x4 with a shining star
kind of style. So if you love to go everywhere, and look great
doing it, call today!
