This 1954 Studebaker Commander Restomod is really the best of
everything. After all, you get the rare and swoopy Studebaker
design. But now it comes with a custom cruiser sense of style, a
custom/comfy interior, proper small block V8 power, and the control
of a five-speed.
Famed designer Raymond Loewy really understood how to take his time
and let the sheet metal develop sophisticated lines. The long
flowing hood and short rear deck instantly make this sporty. Plus,
the dual grilles, wraparound back window, and sharp-looking trim
make this truly elegant. While you can tell there has been a solid
investment in keeping this classic style looking great, you can
also see that money was spent updating this Studebaker.
Color-matched bumpers, sport mirrors, lowered stance, large dual
exhaust tips, and a louvered hood are pure street machine cool. And
that's what a restomod is all about - fun for the streets. The red
paint has a nice glow while still being easy to drive. And we love
the smooth look of the panels that is heightened by deleted badging
and shaved door handles. Plus, the pinstriping is not only a great
custom car touch, but this one utilizes to help highlight some of
the best lines of the profile.
It's always fun to pop the remote key fob from outside the car and
see people's reactions. And this custom feature is your gateway to
a custom interior. The red and white is nicely intertwined on the
upgraded seats and door panels, and the rest of the interior is a
fully coordinated two-tone package. We'd consider the condition
driver-quality, and that's also reflective of a car that's fun to
drive. That's why you may have the classic Studebaker steering
wheel, but the full upgraded gauges and five-speed shifter are
great for modern driving. There are some nice details that you can
restore for even more comfort, like the R134a air conditioning
system and the power windows (the passenger side is currently
needing service.) Plus, the custom center stack is just waiting for
you to install the modern stereo of your choosing for the best
driving music. But what's really impressive is the detail-oriented
style. Everything from the working c-pillar courtesy lights to the
custom pinstriping on the dash lets you know you're in an upgraded
classic.
While the Commanders were often V8 cars, this one has a clear
upgrade under the hood. It's a younger 5.0 Ford V8. Unlike the
Studebaker powerhouse, there's a nice aftermarket to add even more
power. This one even already has a Holley four-barrel carburetor
and an Edelbrock intake. It fires up eagerly and makes a nice tune
out of the glasspack-style dual exhaust. This upgraded V8 is at the
center of a solid total cruising package. It includes an upgraded
tubular A-arm front suspension, front disc brakes, rear traction
bars, rack & pinion steering, and wide modern tires on classic
American Racing wheels.
This is a rare classic that makes a bold statement wherever it
goes. So don't miss this unique coupe. Call today!!!
