Vehicle Description
Sporting a nostalgia-evoking, smile-inducing appearance, this 1972
Dodge Challenger just begs to be driven! It maintains the sharp
good looks that provided the initial impact when it arrived to
battle the Mustangs and Camaros of its era and it also comes with a
thoughtful collection of add-ons to increase its functionality and
uniqueness without in any way diminishing its authentic look.
The car just has a great look from all angles - angular and
athletic. With its factory-correct, bright glossy red exterior,
this Challenger is a great representative of its era. It's a great
color scheme for this model and is accessorized effectively by the
very clean chrome bumpers and headlight bezels. A set of chrome
Cragar rims further enhances the overall look. We all know how the
stance of a car contributes to overall presence and this one is
great. Not too much rise and not too levelled out and conservative.
Even its hood flare is nice and tasteful - just prominent enough to
show this ride is something special, while still smoothly flowing
into the hood space that surrounds it. Take a look underneath and
you'll see a nice, clean undercarriage as well.
That smile on your face is likely to remain as you open the door
and look inside. Nice white upholstery greets you and it's
factory-correct, as well. Right away, you're likely to notice that
the bucket seats retain the contour they had when this car rolled
off the line. Plush and comfortable. The whiteness of the
upholstery contrasts nicely with the black color of the center
console and carpeting. Gray door panels further accent the look of
the interior. Everything looks as you'd want it to, only better.
Even the owner's manual resides inside the glovebox. A Pioneer
AM/FM CD system with IPOD and Bluetooth capabilities will give you
virtually endless audio options and there's even an under-dash A/C
unit (but will need servicing to blow cold again). The Challenger's
factory gauges are joined with high-end aftermarket additions to
better monitor RPMs, temperature and oil pressure.
Underneath that contoured hood, a professionally built 340 V8
resides, ready for action. It's fed by a Holley Sniper EFI system
sitting on top of an Edelbrock intake manifold. This engine's got a
great, throaty sound as it exhales into a set of ceramic-coated
headers and a dual exhaust. A well-proportioned aluminum radiator
helps keep things cool and resides in a nicely sorted engine
compartment - not a hose or cable out of place. Front Power disc
brakes supply the stopping power you'll want, and power steering
keeps navigation both easy and fun.
This tastefully maintained Challenger has some serious magnetism to
draw you in. It evokes great memories and simpler times and
features glossy good looks, making it seem like it was transported
into the present via time machine. Don't hesitate on this one!
