subsequently produced for 3 years. It was a replacement for the
Austin Healey 100 and was followed by the Austin Healey 3000.
Together these models we're recognized as the Big Healey's.
The vehicle uses a 2.6 Liter Inline 6 Cylinder engine often
referred to as a "Gallery Head" engine where the intake manifold is
a part of the head. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a
4-Speed Manual transmission with overdrive on 3rd and 4th
gears.
Documented 43,000 miles from new, this Healey is a true survivor
and worth of any concours preservation class. Originally owned by
Uncle Fritz, he drove the car for 13 years and 42 thousand miles.
It was stored from 1970 to 2010. At this time, the Healey was
removed from storage and refreshed by his Nephew. It was owned and
cared for through 2018 when sold to its most recent ownership. In
this ownership, the Healey has been used for limited seasonal
touring here in Long Island, NY.
Since being brought back to recommissioned from lack of use
throughout the years, no expense has been spared keeping this
example in excellent mechanical condition. It has receive
documented attention regardless of use and is ready for comfortable
cruising and enjoyment.
