Among the Motorama cars GM built in 1953, the Cadillac Eldorado was the best of the best, and the very top of the line offered by GM. The changes Harley Earl made in the Eldorado from the standard Series 62 Convertible were significant being longer, lower, cut down doors and a panoramic windshield. Chromed wire wheels and a flush finish metal cover to conceal the top when it was folded down. Dwight Eisenhower rode in a 1953 Cadillac Eldorado to his inauguration!
It is powered by a 332 cubic inch V8 producing 210 horsepower paired with a 4 speed Hydramatic automatic transmission. Power steering, chrome wire wheels and wide whitewall tires.
1 of 532 ever built. This extremely rare limited production convertible is a restoration in process. The original color was paint code 27, Alpine white, and this car is now finished in black. The interior leather seats and panels are finished in deep red . The majority of the chrome and all of the major pieces have been re-chromed and are awaiting assembly. The car was driven in its present condition recently, after it was painted. Although there is still a project ahead of the new owner, many of the most significant aspects of the restoration are already completed. For the right person, this is an opportunity to buy one of the most desirable post-war vehicles made.
It is 1 of 532 built, and the very first of the Cadillac Eldorado name. It is extremely rare and very collectable.
No title, sold with Bonded title and Canadian registration. Note: odometer and other gauges are in a box in the trunk.
