Eleanor ... a name now so intertwined with muscle car culture that
one mention of it perks up the ears of Mustang fans and movie fans
alike.
We are proud to offer this 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback, which
started life as an already coveted J-code 302 car, that is now in
full Shelby GT500 Super Snake spec. The restoration was done 3
years ago in England and no expense was spared. The exterior was
fully restored and modified with the Eleanor style body kit. Those
sleek lines were coated in a Gun Metal Gray Metallic paint with
black racing stripes that make this car look fast, even sitting
still. FR500 wheels match the paint scheme and look terrific
wrapped in Pirelli Z-rated radial tires. What gets those tires
turning? How about a built big block Ford V8 engine? It doesn't get
much more exciting than that for the true muscle car fanatic. The
engine is built with aluminum heads, an aluminum intake manifold, a
Holley 4-barrel carburetor, a Super Sucker carb spacer, MSD
ignition with billet distributor, full-length headers running to
dual exhaust, braided lines, and dual electric fans to keep it all
cool. The engine is topped with Ford Performance valve covers and a
chrome air cleaner. That powerhouse of an engine is backed by a
4-speed manual transmission that makes driving this Mustang an
absolute thrill ride! Power steering and power disc brakes make the
car easy for anyone to enjoy.
The interior is nicely restored with Shelby embroidered bolstered
bucket seats to keep you in control no matter how hard you push
this car. A roll bar with harnesses, a billet tilt steering column
with Shelby Cobra steering wheel, Shelby white face gauges, billet
Shelby shifter, and billet Shelby pedals all remind you of exactly
what you just sat in. The little red switch between the seats is
just like in the movie and is sure to make your passengers smile.
An Alpine AM/FM/CD/Bluetooth tucked in the dash is the only modern
touch to be found in the aluminum covered dash.
The trunk is set up with a fuel cell, sound system with amps, and a
nitrous system (that has never been used). Adjustable coil over
shocks on all 4 corners give you the ability to massage this car
into driving exactly the way you want. Subframe connectors, shock
tower braces, and a fully caged rear end make this car incredibly
stiff so it can handle the power the big block is producing!
