Real Super Sport, correct engine, California built. Very desirable
4-speed and factory air conditioning!
EXTERIOR: The body is straight and fits right. No rust or damage.
The SS has the bulges on the hood and black out tail panel.
Repainted its original Butternut Yellow color, no vinyl top. It is
smooth and glossy. Jambs are painted slick. Weatherstrips and
window seals were replaced. Combination of mostly new chrome and
trim and some original in good shape. Reproduction Wide Oval
redline tires are actually radials. 15x7 rally wheels look new.
INTERIOR: Optioned out with factory gauges and "blinker tachometer
". The trim on the dash, dash pad, heater control panel were
replaced. It has a retro stereo in the factory hole. A new set of
gauges are below the dash to accurately monitor the engine's
vitals. New deluxe rosewood steering wheel. The seats were
recushioned and upholstered. Bucket seats in front have a new
center console with a working clock and a Hurst 4-speed. New door
panels and armrests. Carpet was replaced and has reproduction mats.
Headliner looks great except 1 seam coming apart a few inches.
Interior lights work.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: There is a lot of value here. #s match 396,
factory air conditioning, power steering and brakes! It is restored
to show condition. The motor has stock manifolds, reproduction
chrome valve covers and air cleaner. Many new components-
alternator, cadmium plated brake booster, master cylinder,
radiator, shroud. Upgraded HEI ignition system. The a/c has been
serviced, updated to R134 freon. Under the hood is painted glossy,
new insulation pads. The metal surfaces are smooth semi gloss
black. Battery has a disconnect switch.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Bottom of the trunk lid and jamb are glossy.
Solid metal with gray spatter finish. The mat, weatherstrip and
decal were replaced. Complete with jack and spare assembly.
UNDERSIDE: Upgraded in front with upper and lower tubular control
arms. In back it has boxed upper and lower control arms, a sway
bar, new springs, and gas shocks. Disc brakes in front, the e-brake
assembly is hooked up. Factory type dual exhaust system. Looking at
the motor it is very clean, correct canister type oil filter and a
high torque starter. Has a Richmond 4-speed transmission shift
linkage which was replaced. 12 bolt rear end.
This is a fantastic Super Sport. Overall condition is impressive.
The car has great curb appeal. The option list is really what puts
it over the top. Real SS, #s matching car gives some peace of mind
too!
