Multiple Top Flight award winner! It comes with a box full of
documentation. Top Flight judging sheets are included. This is a
very well-preserved survivor type car. It's been maintained as
needed. We have owner history from day one. 1 owner until 1974, 2nd
owner until 1988, 3rd owner until 2002. The 3rd and 4th owners know
each other. Registrations from 1961 til 2002. California car until
2002. The 3rd and 4th owners know each other. The 4th owner lives
in IL and has been a customer of ours for decades. What is a Top
Flight award? It is an award that recognizes that a car appears the
way it did when it left the factory. The car must receive 94% of
the 4,500 total points. Yes, 4,500! Experts closely inspect right
down to factory nuts and bolts. It is a highly coveted award by
Corvette enthusiasts. The awards were achieved by the 3rd
owner.
EXTERIOR: Gorgeous! This color combination is amazing. I've heard
more compliments on this car than any other Corvette in a long
time. The body is outstanding, no damage. The gaps are square and
flush; the doors and trunk click shut. It is being claimed it has
original paint, I believe there was at least some touch up done.
Overall, it shows really nice, gloss smooth finish. There are minor
flaws, nicks. The weatherstrips are still original. The chrome and
stainless moldings are exceptionally clean. Windshield is crystal
clear. The white convertible top was replaced for the first time
recently. The spinner hubcaps are mint. Upgraded radial white wall
tires still have the nubs on the tread. Correct T-3 headlights.
INTERIOR: The red really pops! The dash area is mint- dash pad,
painted trim, gauges etc. Still has original wonderbar radio. Door
panels and upholstery appear to be in very good original condition.
Red and black speckled carpet looks good. The warranty booklet is
the original with this car's vin and first owners name filled out,
it is still in the original paper envelope!
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Original, #s matching 283-230 hp motor with
correct components. Correct Chevrolet script valve covers, carb
with choke tube, "pie pan" air cleaner, ignition shielding etc.
Radiator, shroud, fan, and expansion tank look proper. Correct
generator with cable driven tachometer.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Very nice presentation. Clean, white fiberglass.
Correct red rubber mat, there is a spare underneath it.
UNDERSIDE: Well preserved original. Completely rust free frame. The
fiberglass floors are still raw like they were new. The suspension,
steering and brakes were maintained as needed. It still has
original limiter straps on the rear end. Looking up at the motor it
is spotless, correct canister oil filter. Original dated 3-speed
trans. Original dated and coded rear end with 3.36 gears.
This is not the high performance version; that's probably why it
has survived so well. It has always been cared for since new-
unmolested. It is a beautiful cruiser. I promise you will get
compliments even from people that don't care about cars. The
documentation and judging sheets really make it a safe
investment.
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to
assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are
answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video
that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are
displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an
appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment
there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car,
your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year
membership.
