Vehicle Description
1971 Chevrolet Chevelle
The Chevelle was a mid sized automobile introduced to the world by
Chevrolet in 1964. They were produced for 3 generations with
various body styles offered throughout. The Malibu was the top of
the line and the Chevelle proved to be one of Chevrolets most
popular nameplates. Interestingly the Malibu name was retired for
14 years before being reintroduced in 1997 and currently the Malibu
is the only Sedan Chevrolet offers in the US. This very clean 1971
Chevelle belongs to the 2nd generation which spanned from 1968 to
1972. While the body remained similar throughout their run a big
change was introduced in 1971 with a redesigned grill, single
headlights, and 4 taillights mounted in the bumper. This Chevelle
has been totally redone in a restomod style with a classic exterior
but mechanically modernized to make it a great cruiser. The body is
all solid and the nice deep Blue exterior with dual White racing
stripes has an excellent finish. All of the chrome work and
stainless trim is cleanly mounted in place and has a very nice
shine. The glass is all good and is slightly tinted. From the
outside it looks very stock except for the wheels which have been
swapped out for 18 inch 5 spoke Boyd Coddingtons with Bridgestone
Potenza tires that look great on the car.
Under the hood it features a crate 350ci motor that has been
dressed up with a chrome air cleaner and Chevy bowtie valve covers.
The car has a great sound with long tube headers into a H-pipe dual
exhaust that exits through Flowmaster mufflers out of the rear.
Combined with the motor is an automatic transmission that shifts
smoothly with no issues to transfer power back to the 12 bolt rear
end. The suspension has been all redone and upgraded with Global
West tubular A arms and Hotchkiss sway bars. Other very nice
upgrades to make it a comfortable driver is Vintage AC system,
power steering, and power brakes with Wildwood discs under all 4
corners. It really has been set up to be a very nice show car that
is also fun and easy to drive.

The interior was all redone in Tan and has a split bench up front
with headrests. The carpet, headliner, seats, and door panels are
all in really nice condition. The dash is has a very stock look
with a new factory dash pad and faux wood trim. The AC vents are
inset into the dash and it utilizes factory controls so it was
likely a factory AC optioned car. The gauges are all the stock
setup and are working properly. In order to avoid cutting up the
original dash the original radio was left in place and instead a
Kenwood stereo was mounted underneath. To go with it an amp and 6
CD changer have been mounted in the trunk. Speaking of the trunk it
is all nicely painted and the trunk pan and all floor pans are
good.
This beautiful classic has nicely combined upgraded features with
classic styling so all it needs is a new garage to call home. This
beauty will take home awards and put a smile on your face while
driving to the show.
