Vehicle Description
1973 Lincoln Continental Mk IV - Same Owner Since 1974 - 460ci V8 -
Automatic Transmission - 33k Miles - Maroon Over Brown Interior
Produced from 1972 through the 1976 model years, the Lincoln
Continental Mark IV is a personal luxury vehicle that shared its
chassis with the Ford Thunderbird. Although it saw little direct
competition in the American marketplace, it nearly exclusively
competed against the Cadillac Eldorado, which was redesigned for
1971. Lincoln brought back hidden headlights along with a
radiator-style grille and a Continental spare tire trunk lid for
this generation. Available only as a two-door hardtop coupe, the
new Continental was four inches longer than the previous model
adding to the visual impression of an extremely long hood. With so
little differentiating the years and models of this generation,
savvy buyers will want to concentrate heavily on condition and
mileage when seeking out these vehicles. Highlighted here is a 1973
Lincoln Continental Mk IV which presents the epitome of 1970s
luxury. Shown with what appears to be its original maroon color,
black vinyl top and pinstriping, this vehicle displays the fact
that it has been owned by the same owner since 1974. With hidden
headlights and larger-than-life front fascia, this vehicle reminds
us of something that a mafia boss would drive on his off day. The
exterior is in very nice condition and all the chrome components
shine with great luster. The black vinyl top retains its initial
appearance and is offset by port quarter windows on the rear
quarters. This large luxury sedan is powered by a 460ci V8 that is
paired with an automatic transmission and only shows 33k miles on
the odometer. With a full engine compartment, you can be assured
that this vehicle will float down the road and provide the smooth
ride that you should expect from any Lincoln Continental. The
chassis and undercarriage show a little wear from the small number
of miles but appear solid and functional. For the driver and
passenger, you will find a completely brown interior. From the wood
inserts on the dash to the carpet and the brown button tuffed
seats, it is brown as far as the eye can see. All interior
components are in excellent visible shape with few signs of wear.
The only thing that we would be able to gripe about would be what
appears to be a missing section of carpet in the trunk. Regardless
of whether you are looking for a personal luxury time capsule or
feeding into your internal mafia boss spirit, this Lincoln is the
perfect sedan for you. Like mentioned above, these vehicles
differentiate themselves through mileage and condition and this
vehicle is a very nice example. We hope that you consider adding
this Continental to your collection. Please call if interested or
e-mail with any questions. Thank you for looking.
