This 1978 Volkswagen Super Beetle convertible is powered by an air-cooled and fuel-injected 1.6L flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle, and it was acquired by the selling dealer in October 2020 from its previous owner of 21 years. The car is finished in silver over black vinyl upholstery, and equipment includes steel wheels with chrome hubcaps, front bucket seats, and a black soft top with a heated rear window. Work conducted in preparation for the sale is said to have consisted of performing an oil change and replacing the drive belts and spark plugs. This Super Beetle is now offered with an owner’s manual, a car cover, and a clean Florida title.
The car was repainted in its current shade of silver during previous ownership, and it is equipped with a black soft top. Additional features include fender-mounted indicators, US-market impact bumpers, black running boards, dual side mirrors, and Karmann badging.
Painted steel wheels wear chrome VW hubcaps and are wrapped in Geostar SB-802 tires. A spare is located in the front trunk. Stopping power is provided by drum brakes at all four corners.
The seats and door panels are upholstered in black vinyl and are accompanied by gray carpets. Equipment includes woodgrain dashboard trim, a rear window defroster, and crank windows. The car is not equipped with a radio.
A Wolfsburg-branded steering wheel sits ahead of VDO instrumentation that consists of an analog clock and a 100-mph speedometer with an inset fuel gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 14k miles total millage is unknown.
The 1.6L air-cooled flat-four retains its factory Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection system and is mated to a four-speed manual transaxle.
