This 1971 Chevrolet C10 454 is a terrific custom Pro Street machine
with a big block V8, upgraded rear suspension, and huge rear tires.
Plus, the bold paint means it doesn't try to hide its speedy
intentions.
Yellow is a vibrant paint that gives this truck an instant
presence. It's not a neon-like color, but it has a brightness and a
luster that gets attention. It's part of an older respray, which
makes for a great look out in the sunshine while delivering an easy
driver kind of quality. Plus, you'll appreciate the quality in the
details, like the straight panels, even gaps, bright chrome, and
the way the doors close with confidence. This also has the right of
a sleeker truck with the flush rear roll pan and badging eliminated
for a smoother style. While we don't have to tell you it's a mean
machine, it's worth noting how awesome the performance upgrades
look. The cowl hood contains the big block underneath. And the
15-inch weld racing wheels have that ideal small tire setup with
the skinny rubber up front and the tubbed rear with massive rear
Mickey Thompsons showing off a true pro street style.
The interior has a clean driver-ready style. You have exterior
yellow returning on the steel parts, and the black is used on
softer components like the bench seat, door panels, carpeting, and
dash pad. The dash keeps the stock look, but they also added the
right driving features. You have a later model Chevy steering
wheel, power steering, power brakes, front discs, and a
column-mounted AutoMeter Street Tach.
The engine bay likes to impress. Smooth inner walls, bright
components, and an overall tidy setup make it ready to showcase big
block power. This 454 cubic-inch V8 is built with performance
components like a Holley double pumper four-barrel carburetor,
Edelbrock RPM Air Gap intake, and MSD distributor. The headers let
this exhale with added power while also contributing to the rumble
of the glasspack-style dual exhaust. The TH400 three-speed
transmission is a stout unit that can handle the extra power and
also have smooth automatic cruising. It feeds into a stout Dana 60
rear end. And the reinforced trailing arms and diagonal link helps
keep those Sportsman tires planted to the pavement.
This is the iconic Chevy truck that's built to own the streets.
