Vehicle Description
The 1964 Plymouth Barracuda is the first year for this stylish
fastback. And with shining paint, stealthy upgraded interior, and
solid V8 power, you're going to soon see that this classic has been
given all the right care and investments to be a great cruising
coupe.
Plymouth was responsible for one of the most interesting cars on
the road for the mid-60s. It combined a great hardtop profile,
fastback style, and the largest wraparound rear window anyone had
seen. It also has some of the most interesting sheet metal lines,
and you can see it all so well here because this coupe is quite
crisp and clean. The black paint is a later upgrade, and it
continues to have a good gloss and shine that tells you they
invested in quality. Bright chrome bumpers, complete trim, and a
quality panel fit make for a stylish classic coupe. And while this
is a proper vintage presentation, you'll also notice custom details
like the nice dual exhaust tips and 20-inch American Racing Torq
Thrust wheels. They hint at a car that's overall meant to be a
driver.
The black interior gives this hardtop a timelessly stylish
presentation inside and out. It's a clean look that shows good
investments for a usable cruiser. This first-year Barracuda had
some distinct details, like the fold-flat rear seat and push-button
transmission selector. So it's great to see them working well
today. This one loves to be a true driver. That's why there's a
well-integrated AM/FM digital tuner stereo upgrade. And the classic
Mopar Airtemp air conditioning system now runs on modern R134a
refrigerant (it likely needs a recharge to get it ideally cold
again.) Plus, the three-spoke steering wheel, round gauges, and
front bucket seats give you a driver-oriented feeling.
The best Barracudas received the 273 cubic-inch motor, and so that
feels right to have one under the hood of this coupe. It's upgraded
with a Carter competition-series four-barrel carburetor and an
upgraded intake. The V8 gives you a nice torque advantage and a
proper sound out of the dual exhaust. Plus, there's power steering,
a three-speed automatic transmission, power brakes, front discs,
and modern ZR-rated sport tires to keep this a fun and easy
driver.
Complete with service manual, the first-year Barracuda was a
distinctive coupe, and this one has been given the right investment
to make sure you can drive this distinction with pride. Call
