This 1986 Chevrolet C10 Silverado restomod has the look of a custom
street truck, and the upgraded Vortec fuel-injected V8 power to
back it up, too. And since this is also loaded with everything from
an overdrive transmission to a comfy A/C interior, you start to
understand that this custom pickup already has everything you
want.
Midnight Blue is a terrific Chevy color when you want distinction,
especially since this one has been given a respray later in life
for a good gloss. It radiates nicely in the sunshine, and of
course, the chrome bumpers, billet grille, and trim add to the
brilliance. The blue has a deep and dark tone that makes you
understand it's a meaner machine, without going fully black. The
dark color also goes well with upgrades like the tinted windows,
deleted badging, and power dome cowl hood to give this the right
attitude for a meaner street machine. Plus, we really love the
wheels. They have the classic racer style, but in a modern 20-inch
size that fits the wells better and lets you fit nice modern
tires.
The sea of blue continues inside, and there have been the proper
investments inside to make it feel fresh and inviting. The
headliner, carpeting, smooth dash, and comfy velour seat give it a
quality feel. It's loaded with features like power windows, power
locks, cruise control, an upgraded AM/FM stereo, and cold-blowing
air conditioning. And there are great driver's upgrades like the
tilt steering column, B&M floor shifter, and digital gauges
that have a cool blue glow to match the color theme.
The engine bay even gives you some more cool blue. But now it's the
blue flames of the custom airbrushed engine cover. It's there to
make sure everyone notices the upgrade to the 5.3-liter Vortec/LS
V8. It's even now controlled by a Holley Sniper electronic
fuel-injection system. Anda nice set of headers adds power and
rumble to the dual exhaust. It's a thoughtfully done build, right
down to details like an aluminum radiator with electric cooling
fans and the fuel tank moved to the rear (you access it through a
panel in the fully lined bed.) The V8 runs with that ideal modern
V8 strength. Plus, the power steering, power brakes, front discs,
and 4L80E four-speed automatic transmission with highway-friendly
overdrive make for an easy-cruising pickup.
