This 1986 Dodge Ramcharger has the Royal SE trim and this truck
spent its life in California before spending the last couple of
years in PA where it was restored and used as a summer toy. This
was more of a selective restoration because it was a rust free
truck from California and did not need rust repair. It was a clean
low mileage truck when they shipped it to PA. The body is really
clean and straight and it was repainted in the original colors of
Gold Dust and White. They did a great job on the repaint. All of
the original chrome, stainless, and moldings are still really nice
and the original underside is clean and solid. The last owner did
have this truck ziebarted when it got to PA to preserve the
undercarriage and body. We found no rust or rust repairs on this
rig.
The interior is extremely clean and really nice. Everything appears
to be original except the seats are so nice we believe they were
recovered. The rest of the interior is really nice and well kept.
The headlights, taillights, brakelights, and turn signals are all
working. The gauges and power windows work. The heat, AC, and
wipers are working. the horn is not working. They replaced the
radio with a modern stock looking retrosound radio. This rig has
the factory roll bar which is pretty cool. Since this is the Royal
SE it does have the woodgrain and chrome accents in the
interior.
Mechanically this truck is top notch. It is a great running and
driving vehicle. The engine is believed to be the original 5.8L 360
V8 and the last owner had it totally rebuilt upon arriving in PA.
We did not receive the receipts, but the appearance and how it runs
backs this up. They added an OEM style 4 Barrel Carb, new
alternator, new starter, flowmaster exhaust, new fuel pump, new
water pump, and new aluminum radiator. This engine runs smooth and
strong with no issues. The transmission is the 727 Automatic that
shifts nice and it is mated to the np208 transfer case. The 4WD
works like it should. It has the 9.25 rear axle with 3.31 gears and
the Dana 44 front axle with 3.31 gears. This is all sitting on a
cool set of original Turbine Wheels with newer all terrain
tires.
