Vehicle Description
Start talking muscle cars and the first-generation Camaro is almost
always directly referenced. Offered in trim levels ranging from
stripped economy champ to ferocious pavement prowler, Chevrolet
produced F1s that were capable of satisfying nearly every buyer and
every wallet. That legacy of universal appeal has continued
throughout the last 50 years, giving fans and aficionados the parts
and inspiration to create their own unique hot rods. Take this
alluring resto-mod for example. Backing 427 cubic inches of pumped
and polished big block with a tough Richmond 4-speed and modern
athletics, this tastefully modified Chevy turns a traditionally
appealing platform into a head-turning super star. Ready to hit the
streets in a choice muscle car? Check out this sweet panther!
SUPER CLEAN
The beneficiary of a detailed, ground-up restoration that was
completed sometime in the not too distant past, this slick Camaro
is the product of A LOT of time spent sweating details. A series of
solid body panels displays good fit and great finish. Silky
two-stage seals crisp reflections under custom gray and red Hockey
Stripes. And the result is one very well done pavement scorcher
that'll turn heads at whatever event it rolls up and rocks!
At the front of the car's glowing pigment, a gray, 1969-exclusive
grille hangs color-keyed "SS427" badging between traditional
headlights, traditional parking lamps and a plated bumper that
reflects a gray chin spoiler. At the top of that grille, a shaved
header leads the eye to a mild Cowl Induction Hood, which looks
great in front of satin wipers and bright window frames. A factory
driver's mirror reflects tinted glass above standard rocker guards,
factory door handles and ornate marker lamps. And at the back of
the car, a second plated bumper traces a gray valance, which
centers a second "SS427" emblem between a short spoiler, segmented
taillights and polished exhaust tips.
SUPER STRONG
When you're looking to make a statement with a hopped up muscle
car, installing one of GM's many fantastic big blocks is always a
great start. Impressive in both sight and sound, this Chevy's
massaged 427 kicks off with a smooth air cleaner, which drops
breeze through an electronically choked 4-barrel that's paired with
a small pressure gauge and polished fuel lines. That octane surfs a
painted Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, which floods tough cast
iron heads that hoist polished breathers on polished valve covers.
Spark is provided by a hot HEI distributor, which sequences fire
through loomed Taylor Spiro Pro plug wires. Spent gases roll
through coated shorty headers. At the front of those tubes, flashy
serpentine components spin a polished alternator and a polished
power steering pump. Cooling comes courtesy of a massive Champion
radiator that's outfitted with a tasteful closeout and a large
puller fan. And the Chevy Orange mill looks great inside a
traditional, Satin Black frame.
SUPER FUN
Pose this panther on a lift and you'll find solid, Satin Black
floors that provide a stellar backdrop for a roster of proven
components. A tough Richmond Super T10 4-speed twists power to a
trusty 12-bolt axle that's finished with fun, 3.73 gears. The car's
fully rebuilt suspension is led by a modern, Mustang II-style
front-clip that's built with tubular control arms and QA-1
coil-overs. Turns come courtesy of power rack-and-pinion steering.
Power-assisted stops are the product of two big calipers, two big
drums and two drilled and slotted rotors. Charred dinosaurs float
into large stainless tubes, which hang an X-shaped Pypes crossover
in front of rowdy Pypes Race Pro mufflers. And torque transitions
to pavement through handsome American Racing Salt Flat Specials,
which wear 225/55ZR17 BF Goodrich g-Force redlines.
SUPER COOL
Inside this cool F1 you'll find a fully restored White Houndstooth
interior that's one of the most stylish cockpits to ever roll out
of a GM design studio! Rebuilt front bucket and rear bench seats
tilt Deluxe headrests over modern lap belts. In front of those
seats, a body-matched dash hangs modern telemetry over direct-fit
audio. Color-keyed carpet frames a chrome Hurst shifter between
Standard side panels. And the driver spins a polished steering
wheel around a painted, tilting column.
Combining great performance with crisp aesthetics and timeless
Motor City swagger, this impressive coupe really puts the "class"
in classic. And best of all, being a first-generation Camaro, it'll
always be one of the most in-demand collector cars on the market.
On the hunt for some no excuses metal that'll draw a crowd wherever
it goes? This Chevy is your kind of fun!
