Vehicle Description
2007 Ford Mustang Roush 427R
Roush Enterprises is the parent company for Roush Racing as well as
Roush Industries, a freelance engineering firm; Roush Performance,
an automotive aftermarket development company; and ROUSH CleanTech,
a manufacturer of propane autogas fuel systems, all headquartered
in Livonia, Michigan and owned by Jack Roush. His companies employ
more than 2,000 people throughout North America and Europe. Rarely
seen without his trademark Panama hat, Roush is known on the NASCAR
circuit as "The Cat in the Hat".
For consignment, a 2007 version of the collaboration between Jack
Roush Enterprises, (which includes racing team, engineering firm,
and performance parts manufacturer), and Ford Motor Company in
particular the Mustang. This car is one of a mere 968 produced.
With a supercharged ("Roushcharged") mill, and racing suspension
this car has been enjoyed by our consignor mainly for local car
shows and being driven to church. A longer trip was made to
Michigan by our consignor to have "The Cat In The Hat", Jack Roush
himself as well as his daughter sign the car. All of this with both
window stickers, very low verified original miles, (20,184), and is
ready for the track. Go Speed Racer, GO!
Exterior
Very deep Black paint with little to no faults are seen on this
laser straight paneled car which minds its gaps better than a
grandchild minds its manners at Christmas dinner at their grandma's
house. Silver Roush decals are attached at key areas that deserve
highlighting. These include the middle of the scooped hood which
runs from the grille to the windscreen and a front quarter down
stripe that becomes a horizontal spear at the hockey stick cove on
the door and is labeled 427R. As a throwback tribute to the
fastback Mustangs of yore, a triangular louvered panel mimics the
roofline of the fastback on this newer model. A low angle spoiler
is atop the rear deck, and 20-inch polished chrome Roush wheels are
on all 4 corners. A wonderful exterior concerto ending in a
crescendo of dual vertical triple brake lights and dual chrome
exhaust tips.
Interior
A veritable gray scale of tones works together to complete the
monochromatic artwork we will call the passenger compartment. A
tasteful mixture of various tactile materials from vinyl to
leather, plastic to cloth, and chrome to electronics starting in
the form of 2 front buckets in light gray and clean black. These
power seats up front are backed by a similar 2+2 high back
bucket/bench. Also noted on the upper back panel of the front
buckets is an embroidered Jack Roush signature in white stitching.
A center console houses the Roush shifter and a storage
compartment. The instrument cluster complete with white faced round
deep-set gauges and green LCD readouts on the ODO and radio, plays
the high tech card early on in the high tech game. Clean black
carpet is reserved for the floors, and a tight headliner is seen
above the menagerie.
Drivetrain
The money shot if you will, a flip of the hood and we shake hands
with a 4.6 liter Roushcharged V8. It has fuel injection and a
supercharger atop and a Tremec 3650 5-speed manual transmission on
the rear. Way back is a Ford 8.8-inch 3.55 rear axle. This powerful
V8 puts out a respectable 427 horses, plenty to make you a
formidable opponent.
Undercarriage
Obviously, this car was garage kept most of its life as there is
nary a drip underneath this vehicle and only surface rust noted on
the untreated suspension components. All else shiny and bright
including some of the suspension which is racing ready in the form
of independent coil springs up front, and 3 link with Panhard bar
on the rear. Power disc brakes are all around. Just to emphasize
the low mileage, a factory sticker still adorns the rear axle.
Showroom kids, think showroom.
Drive-Ability
Anytime we have such a car I tend to give the nod to my crack
decoder and muscle car aficionado to man the wheel. And man it he
did, while on our test track he demonstrated the precision
handling, unlimited acceleration, and stop on a dime braking. We
experienced all of this from the leather clad comfort of the
cockpit all the while enjoying the crystal-clear tunes from the
radio, the icy cold AC and the heartbeat of the mill from the Roush
exhaust.
A collectible investment grade car with verified low miles, all
original and ready for the track or street. Jack Roush is known for
his attention to detail and has won several NASCAR titles with his
teams, and this certainly carried over on this collaboration which
is right here NOW at Classic Auto Mall. Christmas is coming!!
