Vehicle Description
The first generation of front-wheel drive Eldorados were the true
kings of spacious cruising, and so this 1967 Fleetwood Eldorado
model has an instant distinction. And as you look over this full
package, you're going to find a true classic style. That's because
this Caddy even comes with a cool barn find story. And all those
years off the road mean we also believe the low odometer represents
the full actual mileage.
This generation of Eldorado really felt like it represented its era
correctly. Hidden headlights, minimal trim, and a formal hardtop
with taut vinyl roof gave this an aggressive elegance. So it made
this feel like how Cadillac does a muscle car. This is wearing its
factory-correct Regent Maroon, and there was even a more recent
respray to give it a good gloss in the sunshine. This luster helps
highlight the good sheet metal, so you really see the crisp lines
and outstretched fenders of a proper 1960s Caddy. But nothing here
ever gets too fancy. The story we're told on this one was parked in
a barn in the mid-1970s and spent decades in slumber. It was
resurrected correctly to be a strong runner and some details were
refreshed, but it shows the right look of a car with history. So
those form-fitting chrome bumpers have a big shine but still have
the right touch of age to tell the story. And the hubcaps, badging,
trim, and grill are all part of this detailed but vintage
style.
The interior has a classic style that's quite inviting. Barn find
cars can sometimes have their essentials deteriorate, and so this
one makes sure it still feels like a luxurious Caddy by having the
full carpeting recently replaced. And we love the look of the new
seating with houndstooth cloth inserts. Details like power windows,
power locks, and the C-pillar courtesy lights give this a luxurious
feeling in the amenities. Features like the air conditioning and
radio are still the stock pieces. They are nice to have as part of
this very vintage dash, and you can restore or upgrade them if you
wish to have the full function. And you'll appreciate the personal
luxury layout with a large fold-down center armrest,
tilt/telescopic steering column, and classic three-spoke steering
wheel. So it makes for a comfortable classic cruiser for modern
times.
The 429 cubic-inch motor fills the engine bay. There is an honest
style and this V8 keeps its original spirit right down to the
correct-style four-barrel carburetor. It's a torque-filled
powerhouse built before emissions regulations, and so it lives up
to its muscle car kind of style. But this is not a bruiser; it's a
cruiser. The unique front-wheel-drive setup puts the motor's weight
over the driving wheels, and it also allows for that flat floor
inside where everyone can spread out. And you have a three-speed
automatic transmission, power steering, and power brakes to make
sure driving this classic still gives you Caddy-style comfort.
Part of what tells this car's story so well is its excellent
paperwork. So the sale comes with the dealer invoice, original bill
of sale, warranty card, owner's manual, and uncut collector key.
