1984 Chevy C-10 Shortbed Custom
This is a new 1984 Chevy Pick Up. Purchased in 2019, the current owner tore into it immediately with a full body off, nut and bolt restoration/custom build. Every nut and bolt has been touched and most of them are new.
The truck was purchased new in Guilford, CT in 1984 and moved along the coastline to Madison, Clinton and then into Higganum, where the last owner, a fireman, used it all the time, as a work truck and his truck to get to fires. He had it loaded with sirens, and lights, etc.
When the current owner purchased it, he had a plan. All the trim was pulled off, including the name plates and the holes filled. All non necessary holes were filled, under the hood, in the body, etc. A lot of metal was replaced.. as a matter of fact, the only original pieces of metal on the truck are the bed floor, and the cab. New doors, new floors, new cab corners, new inner and outer fenders, new hood, new bed sides. The frame and rear axle was sandblasted and epoxy coated. The front suspension was replaced with 2" drop spindles, 3" dropped springs, POL upper and lower control arms and a new sway bar. Out back new springs were used with an axle flip kit to lower the back end about 4-5 inches and a new sway bar. New Monroe shocks all around. The 10" rear was stuffed with 31 spline axles , 3.54 gears and a posi.
The old 305 was tossed in favor of a completely rebuilt, roller rocker, .030 over, 350, topped with an Edelbrock manifold, Demon 650 4 barrel and K&N filter. Patriot coated headers funnel the exhaust out through 2.5" pipes, with crossover, and MagnaFlow mufflers.
The auto trans was dumped in favor of a Muncie M20 4 speed and a Hurst Super Comp shifter.
All body mount bushings and spring bushings replaced, all new brakes, new booster, new power steering pump, new alternator, all new brake and fuel lines.
I mean... this truck is a NEW 1984 Chevy C-10 Short Bed.
Inside the cab and bed were coated with Lizard Skin coating, the custom paint is a Ford color, Cinnamon Glaze, the mirrors are Corvette mirrors. The wheel and tire combination consists of American Racing wheels ( 8x18 in front, 10x18 in back) and Nitto NT555-G2 tires in 245/45 and 295/45 sizes. They grab very well despite there not being a lot of weight over the rear wheels.
The gas tank was replaced and moved and there is a custom filler behind the left rear wheel well.
The interior was reupholstered, painted, treated to hush mat in the doors and got a new dash pad. The windshield and rear windows are new, the door windows are actually original.
If you're wondering if it's new, it probably is, but feel free to ask.
This truck RIPS!!
The lowered stance helps put the power down and jamming through the gears, she will easily bust the tires loose in 2nd and 3rd gears. Despite being a truck, again the lowered stance and sway bars make this truck feel more like a Corvette through the corners. In my time behind the wheel I had a blast driving her.
You'd never guess, but she drives like a new truck.
The owner has put roughly 3500 miles on the truck and has enjoyed all of them. He is building a model A hot rod though and the sale of this beautiful mild custom will fund that project.
The cost to build this far exceeds the asking price of just $38,000.
Any questions on specifics of the build, for many more photos and video, to schedule a time to see her in person, or to simply make an offer, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Thank you for the interest.
