For Sale: 1976 Ford Torino in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

This is one of the most iconic TV cars of all time. It is an actual Ford produced Starsky and Hutch special edition. This is 1 of 22 Gran Torinos made red with white interior! Documented with Marti Report and 2 build sheets. Very good amateur restoration, it comes with a thick pile of receipts.

EXTERIOR: $14,500 body and paint restoration at Maaco. Plus, purchase of a left full quarter panel and right lower quarter. The car was media blasted then painted with a urethane sealer, base coat and clear coat. The white stripe is correctly painted with a black outline. Weatherstrips and window seals were replaced. The trim was professionally polished, original bumpers were rechromed. New door lock set, antenna, door handles, taillights, light sockets etc. New windshield. Slotted aluminum wheels with BFG tires.

INTERIOR: Ultra rare white/red interior with bucket seats and a console. New red carpet. Seats have new cushions, upholstery, and headrests. Painless wiring harness. Upgraded electric slide heater controls. Turn signal switch and lever were replaced. Ignition, headlight, blower, and dimmer switches were replaced. Door panels, headliner, visors, rear speaker shelf, sill plates, door handles, shift handle were replaced. The clock was rebuilt. The instrument panel and steering wheel are clean. Upgraded retro stereo.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Rebuilt 351 Windsor motor. Street Fire CDI ignition, Edelbrock carb. The air conditioning system was completely updated with a new Classic Auto Air system. New hood insulation, battery tray, washer pump, radiator, water pump, horn etc.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and jamb are painted glossy. Weatherstrip and trunk mat were replaced.

UNDERSIDE: Front end rebuild kit - ball joints, tie rods, bushings, idler arm, center link, springs, shocks, and steering box were replaced. Dual exhaust was replaced. New fuel sending unit and filler tube. Bottom of motor is clean, new starter and fuel pump. Professionally rebuilt trans, torque converter was replaced. Right hand floor pans were replaced. Brake and trans lines were replaced. Rear brake drums were cut
