We are very happy to present this fine example of a 1968 Chevelle SS396/350hp matching numbers classic. The current owner of the Chevelle has owned it since 2008.

FEATURES INCLUDE:

396ci / 350hp V-8 - Numbers Matching
Muncie M20 4 Speed Transmission- Numbers Matching
Power Front Disc Brakes
6000rpm Red Line Barrell Tach
Hydraulic Lifters
12 Bolt Rear/ w Positraction (correct but not original)

Since these cars are all about the engines, we decided to show the engine compartment first. We have tried to photograph every number on the car to show it is the real thing.

The engine compartment is nicely detailed. You will notice in the photos, that the heater hose has been bypassed. There was a leak inside the car, so the owner bypassed it, since we rarely need heat here in Texas.

In 1968 the VIN# proves the car to be a real SS396.

You can clearly see the vin number on the block, as well as the block code showing it to be a 396.

The interior displays the original bench seat.

One feature available in 68 was the "rolling" or "barrel" tach. The 6000rpm red line was only available in the SS396. Others had 5000rpm red lines.

The clock is actually working. Also, the owner said the car had just about 100,000 miles when he bought it, and it now the odometer shows 1984 miles. The seller said that he has just put just under 2000 miles on the car in 14 years.

The dash is in good condition except for this one crack.

The car had headers added, but in the trunk are the original exhaust manifolds.

The trunk area seems to be in very good condition and there does not appear to be any sheet metal replaced.

The undercarriage is clean and solid. There is no sign of rust on this car. Other than some chips and light scratches, we didn't see any Bondo. A soft magnet sticks all around the lower edges in the most common spots for rust.

The 12 Bolt rear has positraction, but we aren't sure of the exact gear ratio. The way it drives, it's more than likely 3.31 or so.

This car appears to have been completely restored at some point. The current owner bought it just as it is. He did have a custom shop go over the car when he bought it, and it checked out very well. They did some very minor things like window regulators and some minor repairs. He has put just under 2000 miles on the car since that time.

The 4 speed Muncie is the original to the car. All of the numbers are shown in the photos.

We have had the car in our showroom for a a couple of weeks now and there are no leaks. This is a very nice car.

Here are some of the documents we have that will be included with the car, the  Protect-O-Plate, Dealer bill of sale, and a copy of the May 1968 Life Magazine with a 2 page ad for the SS396 Chevelle.

These next photos show the typical areas where the paint usually cracks. You can see that there are no issues in these areas.

There are some chips on the car, but in general this is a very nice car.

This is your opportunity to own one of the most collectible cars out there today. This one won't last long.

We have over 140 photos of this car. If you are interested, contact us to get them all.

Again, please feel free to call Maris at 214-616-2317. I would be happy to assist with financing and shipping as well.
