This magnificent 1966 Honda CA77 Dream Touring 305 is one-owner motorcycle and one of the best restored examples known to exist. It retains roughly 90% of its original parts that were restored which is rare, time consuming and costly.  It was purchased brand new by a gentleman named Robert Marcelini who lives in Vulcan, Michigan. “Bob” enjoyed this motorcycle for many years and accumulated a total of 17,400 original miles. Bob is an experienced automotive restorer and decided to restore this motorcycle in 2018. He purchased another 1966 Honda CA77 Dream Touring 305 with just over 3,000 original miles as a parts donor for the restoration. When he received the other motorcycle the condition was so nice he couldn’t use it as a parts donor. So, he ended up restoring both motorcycles at the same time. The meticulous show quality restorations were both completed in 2020 and have less than 40 test miles on each. This example sports its original Red color which is stunning. It’s powered by its original matching numbers 305cc engine which runs and sounds amazing. After being the caretaker for 56 years Bob decided to sell his pride and joy to MS CLASSIC CARS in May of 2022. MS CLASSIC CARS also purchased his other motorcycle as a package deal. This Honda Dream checks all the boxes!

This motorcycle is in absolutely beautiful condition from top to bottom. It is definitely in concours show quality condition throughout. As the restoration photos document it was completely disassembled and meticulously reassembled. This machine is the definition of a no expense spared nut and bolt restoration. As stated above, it retains roughly 90% of its original parts that were restored which is rare, time consuming and costly.

The original pressed-steel frame was completely stripped. The frame and all its original sheet metal was professionally repainted in its factory original color of Red. This color looks beautiful on this motorcycle with its art deco styling. The paint is high quality and was recently detailed to a brilliant shine. The original fuel tank wears the re-chromed side covers with the original black knee pads and Honda emblems. All the original chrome work was redone and shines beautifully. All of the original parts were restored such as handle bars, levers, dual mirrors, gas cap, emblems, etc. Some original Honda OEM parts were sourced such as the red grips, cables, etc. The key accessory positions, front headlight, rear brake light, horn, electric start and original speedometer are in working order. It’s been outfitted with a set of custom turn signals in the front and rear which are also in working order. The new red seat cover was wrapped around the detailed original seat frame. The machine sits on the new chrome 16” wheels with Honda OEM spokes. The wheels were wrapped with Naidun 100/90-16 white wall tires that were special ordered which took forever to get.

The original matching numbers 2-cyclinder, 305cc/23HP engine was super clean internally and in great running condition prior to the restoration so it didn’t need to be rebuilt. However, it was gone through and serviced. The 305cc parallel-twin features alloy construction and is equipped with a single overhead camshaft, 22mm Keihin carburetor and electric starter. The original carburetor with C77 stamp was rebuilt. All of the engine parts were cleaned and painted Honda silver was appropriate. The ignition system was overhauled with new Honda OEM points, Honda OEM condenser, Tiger Tails yellow 7mm wires and NGK plugs. It’s equipped with a new yellow Motobatt 12V AGM battery. The engine breathes through a new dual exhaust system with Dunstall wide mouth mufflers which sound amazing. The head pipes were sourced from Classic Honda Restoration. The power is transferred to the rear wheel through a 4-speed manual transmission and enclosed chain drive. The transmission was also super clean internally and in great working order prior to the restoration so it wasn’t rebuilt. It also retains the original clutch which works excellent. The new sprockets are Honda OEM. It was upgraded with a new pull ring chain. The machine is equipped with a center stand, side stand and kick starter.
