The retro rod retains a lot of its original vintage charm along
with some slick modern enhancements. It was also given mechanical
upgrades so it can be driven and enjoyed.
This car was on display in the Imperial Palace collection in Vegas.
I acquired from the gentleman that retro rodded the car. He drove
this car, get in and take it anywhere!
EXTERIOR: It certainly has the look. The stance is spot on, slick
black paint and sitting on those big polished wheels looks amazing.
Appears to be rust free, I don't see any damage, bubbles or body
work showing. Laser beam straight and fits nice. The paint looks
like glass, if you get close you'll find minor imperfections
because it is 20 years old. At the time of restoration all the
chrome and trim was replaced or restored. It has optional dual
mirrors, fingernail guards, rocker moldings and rear antenna. It
also has the gold license plate frames. Black Mercedes cloth power
top. LED taillights. All new glass. Intro wheels- 18x8 in front,
19x10 in back wrapped in Nitto performance tires.
INTERIOR: It is restored to look original with a few modern
upgrades. Dynamat sound deadener under the black carpet and
reproduction floor mats. Reproduction upholstery and door panels.
The metal trim has been painted gloss red. There's a tachometer
below the dash, Lokar shifter on the floor. The air conditioning
uses the factory looking controls. It has a retro stereo in the
dash and an updated clock. Beautiful custom steering wheel is on a
tilt column.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: GM 350 crate motor is making 340 hp. GM
aluminum intake, Edelbrock carb with electric choke, MSD electronic
ignition and ceramic coated exhaust manifolds. The front of the
motor has a complete Zoops system including billet brackets and
pulleys, serpentine belt, polished a/c compressor, polished
alternator and modern power steering with remote reservoir.
Aluminum radiator, condenser, trans cooler and overflow bottle. Big
electric fan, polished hard radiator hose with compression clamps.
Upgraded power brake booster with dual reservoir master. It also
has electric wipers, horns, battery is bolted down etc.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Solid metal and it is painted black. Correct
rubber mat, reproduction whitewall tire that's never been used on a
painted rim. Has jack assembly.
UNDERSIDE: Front end has been rebuilt and upgraded with a swaybar.
In back it has lowering blocks and it looks like the springs and
shocks were replaced. Real nice dual exhaust system with crossover
pipe, Flowmaster mufflers and turn down tips tucked up behind the
quarter panels. The brake system has been completely updated, disc
at all 4 wheels. Hoses and lines were replaced, e-brake is hooked
up. Looking up at the motor it still looks new, has a high torque
mini starter and chrome flywheel cover. Upgraded 700R-4 overdrive
automatic transmission. New drive shaft and rebuilt rear end with
3.36 posi gears. Floors and frame appear to be solid metal.
This gorgeous 57 wants to be used and enjoyed, it doesn't want to
sit in a garage or ride on a trailer. It wants to be rollin down
the road and look good doing it!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to
assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are
answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video
that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are
displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an
appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment
there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car,
your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year
membership.
